Studying in this college has given me quite good experience

College Infrastructure

The infrastructures are good and the classrooms are pretty windy. It has both AC and NON AC Classrooms. The seating arrangements are also well mannered and every bench is at a good distance from the blackboard with smart boards in all classrooms.

Friendly campus, supportive staff, great academics

The infrastructure at Netaji Subhash Engineering College is quite impressive for a private engineering institution in Kolkata. The campus is neatly maintained, providing a clean and green environment that feels welcoming. Classrooms are equipped with proper benches, projectors, and fans, making regular classes comfortable. The laboratories are fairly well-stocked with modern equipment, although occasional updates in machines or computers would be appreciated. Have a question related to NSEC Kolkata ?

i confused to choose between RCCIIT & NSEC for MCA admission....which college demand low attendance and which college have higher placement chance...pls help anyone

Hello,

Choosing between RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT) and Netaji Subhash Engineering College (NSEC) for MCA depends on your priorities regarding attendance and placements.

1. Attendance:

While official policies at both institutions generally require 75% attendance, NSEC is typically perceived as being more lenient with attendance enforcement. This leniency could allow more flexibility for students managing internships or external activities. RCCIIT, being a government-aided institution, tends to be stricter regarding attendance to maintain academic discipline.

2. Placements:

RCCIIT has a slightly stronger reputation for placements, especially for MCA students. The college has better industry connections and companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys frequently recruit from its campus. RCCIIT’s alumni network in the IT industry also plays a crucial role in securing job opportunities. On the other hand, NSEC also has decent placement records, but its focus on core engineering streams might slightly impact the MCA-specific placement scenario.

In summary, if you prioritize flexibility in attendance, NSEC may be a better fit. However, for stronger placement opportunities, RCCIIT might be a wiser choice. It's important to visit both campuses and speak with current students to get real-time feedback.

Hope it helps !

Well in 1st round of counselling I got Nsec , cse branch my rank is 11K , shall I join it or wait for other rounds for higher preference like IEM , Heritage, Techno main saltlake, Kgec , Jgec , in all I gave cse/IT/ece preference????

Hello,

To get a clearer picture, let us consider both the cases :

  • Joining NSEC Now:

    • You have secured a seat in CSE, which is a preferred branch.
    • If you are okay with NSEC's reputation, placements, and facilities, it can be a safe option.
  • Waiting for Other Rounds:

    • You may get a chance in higher preference colleges with better reputations and placement records.
    • There is a risk involved; if you wait and don't get a better option, you might miss out on NSEC as well.

Now based on your situation, my recommendations are :-

  • Research Thoroughly: Look at the latest placement records, campus facilities, and faculty of NSEC and compare them with your higher preference colleges.
  • Counselling Trends: Check previous years' counselling trends to gauge the likelihood of getting a seat in the next rounds at your preferred colleges.
  • Consult with Seniors/Alumni: Talk to current students or alumni of NSEC and your preferred colleges to get a real-world perspective on academics, placements, and campus life.

Based on your research and personal preferences, make an informed decision. If you are confident about getting a seat in one of your higher preference colleges in the next rounds, it might be worth waiting. Otherwise, securing a seat in CSE at NSEC could be a prudent choice.

Best of luck!
