Manish, you haven't mentioned in which exam have you scored a rank of 116986. But if this is in KCET, we do have the cut off list for KCET Mock Counselling for the year 2019. Unfortunately with this rank you might not get a seat in New Horizon College for Engineering irrespective of your Category. You can check the cut off list at: http://kea.kar.nic.in/cet2019/mock/engg_cutoff_gen.pdf . If it is not for KCET but regarding anyother exam, please do let us know. If this for KCET, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. We would suggest you to use our College predictor: https://dqxeclau.top/kcet-college-predictor
Yes, there is a chance to change your branch in second year after full filling the following criteria:
1) score more than 85% in your first year.
2) if there would be vacant seats in your desired branch.
Hope it helps.
All the best.
Vellore Institute of Technology , Andhra Pradesh and New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore both are leading Engineering colleges of India. Being top level colleges, both have achieved many rankings and ratings. The course is backed up by renowned faculties and CSE being one of the most demanded branches, grabs most of the placements in almost all Engineering colleges. However, New Horizon College of Engineering has been ranked at 114th position in Engineering colleges of India by NIRF. And if we go through the placement record, VIT Ap is good but it is better in New Horizon. Companies like Cisco, IBM, Amazon, Class Method, EY, VMWare, Capgemini, TCS, Tech Mahindra etc come for recruitment. The average package offered around 3 to 5 lpa and almost all the students from CSE and ISE get placed every year and the placement percentage is also good for ECE. You can read studnets' reviews here

Hi,
New horizon college of engineering is located in banagalore and is a private institution affliated to visveswaraya technological university. It has the AICTE approval and has total seats of about 150
It provides MBA course to the candidates.
Both e&t and m&t refer to the same college and theres not so much of a difference
Hello Aspirant,
Based on this score the chances seem to be less getting the core branches in NEW HORIZON COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & MANGALORE INSTITUTION OF TECHNOLOGY and ENGINEERING.
Since it is very late to answer your query, I hope you have checked the seat allotment & also allotted the seat in any of the engineering college.
Good Luck!
* Best campus in Bangalore and good faculty and nice way of teaching from faculty, available free wi-fi, labs also available near and clean classrooms and labs. * 3 times food with variety of dishes, like dosa edle Puri price with more sambar and weekly 2 Times chicken, every day complete with egg and a well-cleaned room, each room 2 students.
The facilities are good even though our college is money-minded. If we give the money, you get good services, the mess food is decent, and you have many cafeterias to choose from. We have a decent WiFi connection for basic tasks. Everything is expensive; they will try to extract money wherever possible.
They provide a good infrastructure with clean classrooms . Wi-Fi facility is there inside the campus. Labs are good and maintained cleanly. They provide a very good library. They also provide us with a digital library so that we can study in home. It also helps a lot to the students.
