The campus is not very big but it's well-maintained and clean. Classrooms are decent but not modernised everywhere. There is a canteen, common rooms and a small auditorium. Washrooms and basic facilities have improved over the years.
Faculty in many departments is experienced and supportive. Teachers are sincere, especially in the morning shift. Attendance is taken seriously in most classes. Study environment is better in morning shift than evening College.
Placement cell is active but limited companies come. Commerce and BA programme students get slightly more exposure. Majority of students opt for higher studies or government exams after graduation. Internship opportunities can be found t through college society.
Good
The college infrastructure is not so good as expected. Classes are overcrowded , furnitures are broken , soke of the ceiling are also not good. Somehow it is not so good. Canteens are maintained and are clean. It is the off campus of delhi University very less students wanted to get admission in this college
Faculty are qualified, they help their students improve their academic work and overall learning experience but sometimes lectures cancelled and critical engagement limited, there are some supportive professor and they are Highly knowledgeable.
Placement cell of the. College is supportive but outcome are depend on the department of the courses. B com and CS students report better than any other streams on this college .average package of my college is 5 lakh-7 lakhs.
Yes, it is taking low-fee compare to other delhi University colleges. Fees of the college approx 15k- 40k each course. Also provide good opportunities for B.com students
This college provides some cultural fests and other social activities through societies in the college ehich makes the campus life little bit nice and atmosphere is so good.
Pgdav college offers a strong infrastructure package especially in newer section like smart classrooms , extensive labs and the sports environment . Infrastructure in the older block needs upkeep and some Students report maintenance .
Pgdav college well regarded constituent of Delhi university and maintain a strong academic foundation across its Art , commerce , science streams . Overall pgdav college have strong academic experience.
Pgdav college if you are in commerce and science then pgdav college offers realistic placements opportunities . Some streams have realistic placement offers and some streams have average placements so basically placement are not to good in this college.
Yess , not much higher cost under 10 k to 14 k I give for my course
In Pgdav college campus Life best who experienced .
There are majorly only two buildings. These buildings are referred as new building and old building. The old building has old and bad benches but the new building is upto modern standards that students love.
There are very enthusiastic teachers who would make your learning experience amazing and would push you to learn more but there are many teachers who are pretty bad and would make your semester experience hell. Even though there are these bad teachers the amount of good teachers exceeds them.
Till now I haven't seen many average students get placed with companies coming to the college but the topper students have done wonderfully and the placement cell works very hard providing new internships every week
My course fees was 15,000 for 3 years for the course of Ba. It's relatively easy on the pocket of parents struggle financially and the college also provide ews and etc financial help. My money was worth it.
People of this college are very friendly and welcoming though I don't socialise too much personally but people of this college have always been welcoming and there are many cafe, restaurant, MCDONALD'S,and Malls to which people of the college go to spend time with there friends.
Overall it's nice.
As a student of PGDAV collage, I have say the infrastructure is one of the weakest points. Despite being part of Delhi University , the campus facilities are far from what one would expect from a reputed institution. The classrooms are overcrowded, many with broken lights or benches and outdated fans. During the monsoon leaky ceiling are a regular issue, making it hard to focus or even stay dry. The library while having a decent number of books, feels stuffy and lacks proper digital access or reading spaces. The washrooms are in poor condition often dirty and with broken fixtures which makes basic hygiene a problem. overall, the collage feels neglected when it comes to maintenance and infrastructure. Students have voiced these concerns but responses are slow and mostly superficial.
As a Ba student here, I'm honesty not impressed with how academics are handled. Some teachers are decent , but most just show up, read off slides or notes and leave. Half the time classes get canceled or erged without any proper notice, so consistency is joke. if you're in BA programme or even Honors, don't expect any special attention CS and B.com clearly get priority here. Teaching feels outdated there is barely any proper discussion, critical thinking or real engagement Overall, it feels like BA students are just here to pass time until exams. If you're self-driven, maybe you can make it work but don't count on the system to support you. Feels more like survival than learning most days.
the placement cell at PGDAV feels more like a formality than actual support. It exists yeah, but if you're expecting proper guidance ,real opportunities or any consistent system that helps student prepare for job market. You're on your own. Most of time, updates come late or are shared in a way that only a few people even catch them. Some companies do show up, but they're mostly offering interships or super low paying roles barely worth your time if you're in BA. And honestly, it feels like unless your're from B.com or CS, you,re invisible here
yeah, the fees are low but so is what you get in return. Classrooms are outdated, classes get cancelled often, ad for BA students ,there's barely academic push or support. The placement cell docent help much, and there's no proper exposure or career prep. you basically pay for the degree, and everything else learning, growth, future planning you have to figure that out on your own. So even if it's cheap, it doesn't feel worth it. low cost shouldn't mean low quality. But here, it kind of of dose
campus life at PGDAV is dull. There's not much space to chill, feast are rare and unless you go looking for societies you won't feel any collage vibe. Most people just come, attend and leave feels more like a Coaching center than a collage sometimes
Canteen is average at best. Admins and management is Super slow and unresponsive. Getting basic stuff done like certificates, IDs, or exam queries can take forever
So basically infrastructure of my college is very good and washrooms are properly cleaned always and one main of my college is teachers and professors are good in nature or also teach always properly for exam and so on..
Academics of my college is very best and academic teachers are good in physical exercises and they trained us very well and also they teaches us theory of academic bcoz always physical is not enough so theoretically knowledge is very important in academics..
Placements of our college is genuinely good everyone who is completed graduation from our college he/she is placed in high level companies..my seniors told me placement level of my college i am very satisfied from placement cell of my college.
I would not like to add anything because over all is enough in my college and comparing from others
Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (PGDAV) College, affiliated with the University of Delhi, is located in Nehru Nagar, New Delhi. The campus houses various facilities, including seminar halls, computer centers, a bank, a library, departmental laboratories, and extensive sports grounds suitable for cricket, football, badminton, basketball, and volleyball
PGDAV College, affiliated with the University of Delhi, is recognized for its academic offerings, faculty quality, and vibrant campus life. Student experiences and reviews provide valuable insights into various aspects of the institutio
PGDAV College, affiliated with the University of Delhi, has demonstrated a strong commitment to student placements, with the Placement and Internship Cell playing a pivotal role in facilitating opportunities across various sectors.
College washrooms are pathetic . But sports ground is very good . Classrooms are average . There is no wifi , no smart boards. Canteen is built good but their food quality is below average . But overall it is average
The faculty of my course is not at all good except a few teachers but Some of my friends in commerce department told me that their faculty is very good . Overall if we see the college faculty is average .
Placements are average and they also depend upon self ability. But If you are a good student you can crack 10-12 lpa’s package. That’s what I heard. Packages are best for statistics hons and economics hons.
Campus life is good if you have good friends. Many events are also conducted time to time so it enhances college life
college is well good. PGDAV isn't that big and doesn't provide hostel facilities . we have a small library in our college and a small sports ground. the best part about our college is its location . it is south campus of DU so you can visit many places after college
the academics of PGDAV is pretty good. teacher give us many theories and questions to solve. although the attendance criteria is quite hard but in short the academics is good and im sure you would enjoy studying in this college.
you dont get that good placement after doing basic course in PGDAV. like the highest over here was 5.5 lpa. after completing your degree you will have to pursue higher studies for a good job . if u want campus placement then this college isnt for you
the annual fee is very low so i can say value for money
Pgdav college Infrastructure college has a decent infrastructure with well -equipped classes, a library and computer laboratories. However, some areas require some maintenance and the campus is also not very large, but it is well maintained.
Academist Experienced professors and academics with a structured course are good. Faculty is good, but students need to be self-inspired. College emphasizes skill development through various seminars, workshops and keeps their full focus on digital learning
Placement Placements in our college are average, mainly for courses like B.com and BBA. Some reputed companies travel, but most students have to find jobs on their own & had to do hard in their academics to get opportunities. The placement cell is improving, but still has space for development.
value for money PGDAV is one of the more affordable colleges at the University of Delhi. The fee structure is appropriate, and for the quality of education provided, it is worth the money.
Campus life Campus life is normal, in which many societies and events are taking place throughout the year. Fest, cultural activities and student club college make life enjoyable. As it is not a very large campus, it cannot offer many open spaces as other colleges.
Dear Yaswanth,
Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College is a constituent college of University of Delhi ( PGDAV College). It has various facilities like d igital library, e xcellent cultural societies, go od infrastructure, top notch placement record etc.
B.A hons. Political Science will majorly focus on Political Science subject whereas only studying B.A political Science, you will study all the subjects in equal proportions. The college also works to enhances your skills. I would say Choose your area of interest. Scope wise both (hons. And non hons.) are quite competitive.
Talking about UPSC, it covers all the aspects of every subject you are opting for. Considering this, B.A Political Science would be a better course to choose for as it will cover all your subjects equally rather than just focussing on Political Science.
Rest is your decision. Please choose wisely.
Hope this sorted your query.
All the Best!!
Hi Virat
PGDAV is a good college but placements here are not good. It's accreditation is NAAC B. The faculty here is well qualified. The ranking of college depends upon various factors. However as per previous nirf rankings, this college was not under the list.
But no doubt it is one of the oldest constituent colleges of the top ranking University of Delhi.
