Satya Ranjan College, Kalain, is a general degree college affiliated to Assam University. 1. B.A. Economics (Honours): This program is targeted toward the in-depth understanding of economic theories and their application. Merit for admission is based primarily on a combination of marks from the 12th standard examination, with an additional weighting toward students who have Mathematics and Economics at the higher secondary level.
2. B.A. Bengali (Honours): This course is directed toward candidates with a love for the language and literature of Bengali. Merit in admission would be based on an aggregate of all 12th standard marks with more emphasis being placed on marks obtained in Bengali.
3. B.A. Political Science (Honours): Covers political theories, institutions, and processes. Admission on merit will be based on the marks of the 12th standard examination with preference given to those who have taken Political Science or similar subjects at the higher secondary level.
4. B.A. (General): This is a multidisciplinary program allowing students to study various subjects in the arts. The admission process is purely based on merit of the student's performance in the 12th standard examination.

For admission in all of these programs, there are a total of 1,330 seats for students in different courses. Prospective students must be aware that the procedure is the same for all B.A. programs, but specific subject requirements differ with respect to chosen specializations.
