SJCET Palai Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

St. Joseph's College of Engineering and Technology (SJCET) in Palai is an eminent institution providing a plethora of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering and technology.  SJCET Palai generally initiates the admission process in August-September for that respective academic year. The admission applications are accepted based on different national and state-level entrance examinations depending on the programme. For undergraduate programmes, KEAM is the main entrance examination, while for postgraduates, admission is dependent on exams such as GATE, CAT, and CMAT.

Basic eligibility for undergraduate programmes is passing 10+2 in any recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. For admission to most of the courses, the candidate is required to score at least 50% in the qualifying examination. The basic requirement for a student to apply for postgraduate courses is that he/she should have completed a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 55-60% or equivalent CGPA. The important dates for the admission process will differ according to each program and entrance examination. For instance, KEAM 2025 is going to be conducted from April 24 to April 28, 2025.

Admissions Process

The application process varies from program to program at SJCET Palai:

For B.Tech programs:

1. Register and sit for the KEAM examination.
2. Fill out the SJCET Palai B.Tech application form from the official website.
3. Pay the application fees and submit it, together with the required documents.
4. Wait for the merit list based on KEAM scores and other criteria.
5. If selected, report to SJCET Palai for document verification and fee payment.

For M.Tech programs:

1. Qualify the GATE examination.
2. Fill out the SJCET Palai M.Tech application form from the official website.
3. Pay the application fees and submit it, together with the required documents, including GATE score card.
4. If required, attend any tests or interviews conducted by the college.
5. If selected, complete the admission formalities at SJCET Palai.

For MBA programs:

1. Appear for the CAT/CMAT/KMAT Kerala examination.
2. After qualifying the entrance exam, fill the MBA application form of SJCET Palai.
3. Pay the fee for application and submit the duly filled form along with the documents needed.
4. After this, candidates go through further selections like group discussion/interview, and for selected candidates, the admission process is done at SJCET Palai.

For MCA programs:

1. College Entrance Test.
2. After qualifying for the entrance examination, the candidates need to fill the application form for SJCET Palai MCA.
3. The candidates need to pay the application fee and submit the duly filled form along with relevant documents.
4. Candidates will have further rounds of selections (if applicable) that need to be attended.
5. The selected candidates will finish their admission procedures at SJCET Palai.

For Ph.D. Programs:

1. Ph.D. admission announcements can be found on the official website of SJCET Palai.
2. Complete the Ph.D. application form and send it with the necessary documents.
3. Candidates must attend the entrance examination and/or interview as per the college's selection process.
4.  Further, eligible ones must complete the admission in SJCET Palai.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech: The B.Tech programmes offered at SJCET Palai include Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Civil Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Admission to all these B.Tech programmes is done by merit considering the performance of the candidates in the KEAM examination. A quirk that many people would be unaware of is that while applying to SJCET Palai, candidates are exempted from qualifying in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination (KEAM) conducted by the commissioner for Entrance Exams, Government of Kerala. The total 600 seats are allotted for all B.Tech programmes herein.

M.Tech: The college offers M.Tech in Structural Engineering and Construction Management, Advanced Manufacturing and Production Management, Computer Science and Engineering, VLSI, and Embedded Systems. For these programs, admissions are CS mainly based on valid GATE scores. Total intake for M.Tech are 51 seats.

MBA: An MBA program at SJCET Palai is invited for an intake of 60 seats. As per the admission supervisory committee, a valid CAT/CMAT/KMAT score is considered for admission, along with 50% of marks in the qualifying graduate examination.

MCA: Regular MCA and Integrated MCA programs are offered with 60 seats each. The admission process for these programs is based on the relevant entrance examinations.

The Ph.D. programs are offered in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The admission procedure for Ph.D. programs typically involves separate application and selection processes.
