Hello

During PG (MD/MS) , your working hours depend on your specialty, hospital and workload.

Here’s a general breakdown:

1. Regular Duty :  8–12 hours per day (morning rounds, patient management, surgeries or procedures).

2. On-Call Duties : Can extend to 24–36 hours in critical departments like surgery, medicine and ICU.

3. Night Shifts : Often once or twice a week, lasting from evening to morning.

4. Emergency Duties : You may have sudden extended shifts if patient load is high.

Yes, you can go to your room after duty but during busy rotations, you might be called back. Work-life balance improves in later years of residency.

Hope this gives you the clarity you need.

Hello there,

If you have been allotted a seat in the AIQ stray round of NEET PG and do not join, you may be debarred from further AIQ and state counselling as per MCC rules. However, some states allow participation in their subsequent rounds even after AIQ allotment. Check your state’s counselling guidelines or confirm with the state authority before making a decision.

Hello Pragya,

No, you cannot join the state 3rd round seat after resigning from the All India 3rd round seat.

Why?

  1. MCC Rules : After joining a seat in Round 3 (Mop-up round) of All India Counselling, you are not allowed to resign or participate in further counselling (including state rounds).

  2. Bond & Penalty : If you resign, there may be penalties , including debarment from future counselling and forfeiture of fees.

    What Can You Do?
  • Check State Counselling Rules : Some states allow admission if the MCC seat is resigned before a certain deadline .

  • Consult MCC & State Authorities : Contact them immediately to understand your options.

If you have already joined the All India Round 3 seat, changing to a State Round 3 seat is usually not possible .
