Admission Process Degree wise.
BA Programs: The marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2) are the foundation of admission to the BA programs at Stewart Science College, English, Hindi, and Odia. Candidates who took it as the medium of education of higher secondary level are also given preference. This is one of its courses designed to develop and stimulate verbal expression and awareness of literature in students.
B.Sc. Programs: This college has many B.Sc. programs, namely Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, Geology, and Computer Science- they all fall under the honors category. However, admission to the B.Sc. Programs is highly competitive due to limited suites. Students must have been under Science subjects in their 10+2. Selection is based on the marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination. In Computer Science, additional weighting may be given to those students with a background in Computer Science or Mathematics at a 10+2 level.
Teaching method was average some of the teachers are good in explaining while some are not. Proper notes are provided related to the topic after the completion of the unit. But the examination system was properly managed.
I am studying B.Sc.(Maths Hons) cause mathematics is my favorite subject. The Quality of teaching is not so good in this college as teachers don't do classes most of the times and when they do they do not explain so well and expect us to read on our own and understand everything. I don't think our curriculum is updated nor is it able to generate the enthusiasim in students to study the subject. No, this study does not makes us job ready nor even ready for appearing PG level exams like IIT JAM.
