Susruta School of Medical and Paramedical Sciences, Silchar, and is one of the constituent colleges of Assam University. It caters to pharmaceutical education and research. It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral pharmacy programs all of the high standards applied by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Admission at the Susruta School is through a rather well-structured process which aims at bringing well-qualified applicants with the proper inclination into any of the various programs offered. By and large, admissions to the institution are annually conducted, and that is when the academic year begins, around August-September. 

Application Process

The application process will vary for the different types of programs with respect to Susruta School of Medical and Paramedical Sciences, Silchar.

1. For B.Pharma: To apply, students need to pass their 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics. Application forms can be accessed from the Assam University Website or from the institute itself. Fill the application form, attach documents as required, and submit it on or before the last date. 

2. Admissions to M.Pharma programs: Candidates need to provide proof of having taken the NEET PG examination in their admission applications. Admission Process Per Degree

B.Pharma: The Bachelor program in Pharmacy at Susruta School has a sanctioned intake level of 50 students. Admission into this program is likely based on the relevant entrance examination performance of students together with their academic performance in 10+2 based on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.

M.Pharma: Faculty fellowship is aimed at the institute's M.Pharma programs - Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, both having a capacity to accommodate 8 students. The admissions for these programs take into account the scores of candidates in the NEET PG. The selection process could also include consideration of their Bachelors degree marks.

Ph.D. Pharmacy: On the whole, the admission procedure during Ph.D. usually involves an entrance test followed by an interview. Eligible candidates having M.Sc degree in Pharmacy or equivalent would be invited to apply. However, the final selection criteria and admission procedure under the Ph.D. program should be confirmed from the institute directly.
