Yes, it does have the necessary facilities required. The facilities are high-speed wifi, laundry facilities, AC rooms in the hostel, hot and cold water for drinking, mess facility and apart from that a canteen which is open till 11 pm. They all are maintained quite well.
I'm doing my Bachelor in Business Administration. The faculty in the college are fine, as it is the first year of the college's operations, you won't see everything as expected, but I feel some more is what they need. When it comes to the curriculum, Yes it is up to the mark, as the curriculum is taken directly from the main branch of Symbiosis Pune. The curriculum we study and learn is done in both a theoretical and practical manner that makes up prepared for the outside world.
Well, speaking about the placements - as this is our first batch, one has to wait for a couple of batches to pass out. And obviously, the first 2-3 years can be a hurdle but eventually, I hope they will improve as it has solid support from their parent branch in Pune. While talking about the average salary during placements for BBA in Pune is about 7-8 lakhs. So, my expectation holds the feeling of around 5-6 lakhs in Nagpur.
Including hostel and mess facility, if we put altogether then it cost around 5 lakhs per annum. If I need to answer it personally then I would give 6.5/10. This is because, when we as the first batch came to the campus they had promised us with a grocery store, Nescafe, a saloon and stationery shop but the college and mess itself were on the building process so for almost 10 months we didn't get any of that facility and now after these many months we have provided with them. For education 8/10.
College is good. The teachers are friendly, students, as far as I know, are friendly and helpful. The one major advantage of SCMS Nagpur is, we have 132 students in total, all of them have come from 17 different states and 4 different countries and that's the best part I feel. The college is located a bit far away from the city area, it's safe as there are around 25-30 security staff all over the campus 24*7.
If you are choosing this college, it's good but obviously if you get SCMS Pune or NMIMS Mumbai for BBA then don;t choose this one and you will know why. But apart from certain backdrops, this college is fine and if we give some more time then this can become one leading college too where BBA and MBA are concerned, as college get good amount of support from Symbiosis Pune
The infrastructure of this college is simply outstanding! The classrooms and laboratories are quite spacious and comfortable. The hostel (both boys and girls) is preety good. We most probably have the best hostel when compared with other universities. All the rooms are Air-conditioned, 3 room Sharing along with a small balcony(drying area) with attached washrooms. We have a separate building altogether for library. The gym is equipped with all the machines & cleanliness is maintained EVERYWHERE.
The curriculum for the course BBA is vast and it is designed in such a way that in the 6 semesters (3years, 2 semesters each year) it basically covers everything. We can choose our specialisation after studying everything and then deciding what are we best suited to study ahead. The quality of teaching is good too. Professors have immense knowledge in their respective subjects.
I can't really comment much on the placements as of now because it is our first year and we are the pioneer batch for BBA. However, seeing the efforts being taken all over, I'm pretty sure that the quality and process for the placements will be good.
The fee per year is 5 lakhs. It is expensive and currently it is not all worth it because things are still taking shape and coming in process. The campus is still growing up as a whole. We all are working together to make it shine for us as well as for the upcoming batches. In the next 1-2 years, it will be worth it as the campus will be ready, systematic and things will be in process.
The campus is situated in the interiors of Nagpur so getting in the town is a bit of a travel. We don't have any theaters or malls near to our campus. However, in the campus we have a pretty good sports club, ground and gym. The shops are opening inside the campus so we have everything necessary we need handy... The security is good and we have an outstanding campus administrator.
The infrastructure of the college is the thing that enthrals the eyes and gives a soothing effect. All the classrooms are well equipped with air conditioners and projectors along with good quality benches, chair, podium (i.e furniture) and 'BOSE' speakers. Every block has its computer labs, with the latest Windows and Office version that caters the course requirement. Wifi is enabled across the range of the entire boundary of college but some nooks and corners do lack the network connection.
Based on the academics some blemishes need to be focused on like specialized teachers for every subject. As the college has just entered its second year, so the quality of faculty is being triggered because of the scarcity of faculty that resulted in the same teacher teaching multiple subjects despite lacking the precise knowledge. Based on the course content that the syllabus holds, it is satisfactory to get insights but to gain in-depth knowledge self-study is highly recommended.
As the 1st batch is just elevating to its 2nd year, so placements are totally out of our concern and doesn't have any knowledge regarding it but based on the conjecture that my thought perceive, says that the 1st Batch might hold the advantage of good placement. Don't consider the rating I gave, as I cannot say it's poor or good so I marked it average.
Though I am an SII Scholar fully sponsored by Indian Embassy, justifying the word 'value-for-money' contradicts the scholarship. Despite that if I would have to give my opinion, then based on the accommodation and mess facility it's 4/5 because of mess food (occasional), academically it's 3.5/5 (scarcity of books in library).
If I bring the 'Masti' that we do with our intimates in the hostel, it's cherishing and unforgettable. But based on the cultural events and ECA, it's disheartening to commit that not a single event has been organized successfully as every time an event is planned, it gets cancelled or postponed which has hindered our holistic development. On a serious note: the encounter with a reptile-like snake could happen at night in the corners so caution should be taken.
Even though development is an on-going phenomenon, for now, it holds the potentiality to foster at a faster pace in future.
Hi Aspirant,
Sorry to inform you but there is no provision of Master of Computer Applications(MCA) course at Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Nagpur. Even Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies Noida and Pune as well doesn't provide MCA course. They provide BBA course.
