Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Computing Sciences and Information Technology, Moradabad Admission Process

Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Computing Sciences and Information Technology (TMCCSIT),  Admission to this institution is made on the basis of merit as well as through considering the scores received from a national-level entrance exam and also the qualifying examinations. Generally, the admission cycle starts in May-June of every year for the academic year starting in August-September. The admissions to B.Tech programs are conducted on the basis of the JEE Main or CUET UG scores, while the admissions to the M.Tech programs are GATE based. But percentage of marks in qualifying examination is the only basis for admission to BCA, B.Sc., and some other undergraduate programs.

The eligibility criteria vary from program to program. In the case of B.Tech courses, applicants need to complete 10+2 along with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Almost all courses require a minimum of 50% aggregate marks gained in qualifying examinations to apply. For bachelor's courses, candidates will hold a relevant area bachelor's program from a recognized university as the minimum qualification for admission. The application process will remain open all year with different deadlines for various programs. The students are supposed to keep checking regularly on the official university website for specific dates and requirements.

Application Process

Application processes vary by program at TMCCSIT:

1. For B.Tech programs:

  • Qualifying in either JEE Main or the CUET UG examination.
  • Application via the college website or through any other centralized counseling process.
  • Document submission and deposit payment.
  • Participate in counseling, if shortlisted.

2. For M.Tech programs:

  • Have a valid score through GATE and or qualify in the merit list.
  • Fill out the application on the official website of the college.
  • Submission of requisite documents and fee payment.
  • In case necessary, participate in interviews/other tests.

3. BCA, B.Sc., and all other undergrad programs:

  • Apply directly via the college website.
  • Submit academic results and any other necessary documentation.
  • Fees are to be deposited.

4. MCA and M.Sc.:

  • Applications for these are opened through their website.
  • Submit records of graduation and any other listed documents.
  • Fees are to be deposited.

The following documents are generally required:

  • Duly filled application form
  • Passport size photographs
  • Certificate marks of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, graduation as applicable)
  • Entrance examination score cards (JEE Main, CUET UG, GATE as applicable)
  • Category certificate (if any)
  • ID proof

Admission Process Degree wise.

B.Tech: Admission for the B.Tech programs, including Computer Science and Engineering, are based either on a JEE Main or CUET UG score or merit assessed by the percentage of marks gained in the qualifying examination. For B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, the college has 120 seats. Specialized B.Techs in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Data Science are offered usually in collaboration with industry partners like IBM, TCS ION, and i-Nurture.

M.Tech: At TMCCSIT, various specializations under M.Tech programs are offered in the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Security, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics. The admission method is varied mainly between the GATE score and merit through the percentage of marks in the qualifying exam. Each of these specializations would usually accommodate about 15 students.

MCA: MCA has a sanctioned intake of 90 students. Standards have not been stated, but it is likely to have something to do with performance in the qualifying degree.

BCA: The Bachelor of Computer Applications offers 240 seats, admissions are strictly by merit and based solely on the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. TMCCSIT also has specialized BCA programs such as Cloud Technology and Information Security (CTIS) in partnership with i-Nurture.

B.Sc: Courses such as B.Sc Animation (60 seats) and B.Sc Computer Science, with 30 seats probably admit based on marks percentage in the qualifying examination. 

M.Sc.: M.Sc. program has been run in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The admission details are not so set but likely depend on academic performance in the relevant bachelor's degree.

Ph.D.: Doctoral programs are being offered in Computer Science and Engineering but no specific admission procedure has been decided.

Academics

The quality of teaching is not the best, there are a lot of faculty changes and the faculties individually are very well versed but the connection between students and faculties aren't there. Hoping its improved in the future

Academics

The syllabus has a good structure. The faculties are also very knowledgeable. The course I am pursuing is B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering. The teachers will guide you well and can help you to solve the problems. They can guide you, teach you and provide you with all the study material so that you can study well. The quality of teaching is really very well. They are updating there syllabus according to the new technology introduced in the world. And they also made students to get familiar with the latest technologies. And with the help of CTLD (Center of Teaching, Learning and Development) department they are trying to improve the software skills of the students to make them confident and job ready.

My overall experience in the university is good

Academics

I am studying betech in computer science because learning about computer is my hobby . The teaching faculty of the university is good , the trachers clear all the doubts of the students . Yes my curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field .
