No data provided by the college for admission procedure for the latest year
University College of Engineering, Villupuram (UCEV) is a renowned constituent college of the state of Tamil Nadu. It provides various programs in engineering both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. UCEV has an elaborate admission process that is developed to choose capable candidates for the different courses available.
The admission procedure at UCEV generally starts in the months leading up to the onset of the academic year. Though dates may differ, the students are recommended to begin preparing for admissions in advance. The institute makes admissions based on state or nation-level entrance exams, similar to the general practice among engineering colleges within the state of Tamil Nadu.
For undergraduate courses, applicants should have pursued 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as major subjects from a recognized board.
Application Process
University College of Engineering, Villupuram has several steps involved in the application process:
1. Entrance Test: The candidates have to appear for the appropriate entrance test. For undergraduate programs, this would be a state-level or national-level engineering entrance test accepted in Tamil Nadu.
2. Application Form: Once the entrance exam results are declared, shortlisted candidates have to submit the UCEV application form. This form is typically made available on the institute's official website or the affiliating university's website.
3. Submission of Documents: Candidates are also supposed to submit a number of documents along with the application form. These generally include:
4. Application Fee: The applicants should pay the application fee as indicated. The payment options and the amount of fee would be detailed in the application instructions.
5. Counselling Process: Shortlisted applicants might be invited for a counselling process where they can select their desired branch according to their rank and seat availability.
6. Admission Confirmation: Once a candidate is assigned a seat, he/she must confirm their admission by paying the prescribed fees and handing over the original documents for verification.
7. Reporting to the Institute: Admitted students must report to UCEV on the given date to finalize the remaining admission formalities and start their academic journey.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.E. Mechanical Engineering: This is one of the prominent programs at UCEV with an approved student intake of 120. Admission is done based on the candidate's performance in the concerned entrance test and his/her 10+2 scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering: Intake is 60 students. Applicants should pass through the specified entrance test and also satisfy the institute's academic requirement.
B.E. Computer Science and Engineering: Intake is 60 students. Applicants are admitted on the basis of performance in the entrance test and academics.
B.Tech Information Technology: This course also has an intake of 60 students. Admission is also the same as other undergraduate courses in engineering at UCEV.
M.E. Internal Combustion Engineering: This postgraduate course has an intake of 25 students. Admission will probably be based on a relevant postgraduate entrance exam for postgraduate courses in engineering, and the candidate's performance in undergraduate studies.
B.E. Mechanical Engineering (Tamil Medium): This special program is provided by UCEV in the Tamil language. The process of admission would be the same as for the English medium B.E. Mechanical Engineering program with an extra emphasis on being proficient in Tamil.
