Our college infrastructure is average and decent. There are four departmental buildings and two grounds. There is a lab in our field, and classrooms are not that well. It has no whiteboards only chalk board. There is a facility of library which is only best thing in my college. It has so many books related to engineer and others.
College has a good Wi-Fi facility and a digital library which according to me is better than the majority of the 3rd tier colleges and it is just perfect. Hostel facilities are also good but limited seats are there. Neat mess and spacious rooms are there in both hostels. Medical facilities are not there as such, and only one or two ambulances are there for formality. Various sports and games are there.
Good infrastructure with a Wi-Fi-enabled campus. The classrooms are smart, and the labs are good. The college also supports sports and cultural activities. Hostels are good with nice food offered. Medical facilities are available in case of emergency. The quality of the food available in the hostel is good
With a KCET rank of 140,000, chances of getting CSE at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysore, are extremely unlikely. 2024 closing rank for General Merit candidates was around 16,185 in Round 1 and extended to ~15,247 in later rounds . Even for Computer Science via lateral entry (DCET) in 2025, the closing rank for the GM category was just ~1,650, and for 2AG (OBC 2A) it was ~2,741
At a rank of 140k, it sits far beyond any cutoffs—even for less-demanded branches like Civil or Mechanical, which closed around ~95,000 in 2024 .
Your rank is beyond all typical qualifying ranges at VVCE for any core engineering branch, so admission there is not feasible.
If your KCET rank is 140000, then getting admission in VVCE Mysuru is a little difficult, especially if you want top branches like Computer Science, Electronics, or Information Science. These branches usually fill up with students who have ranks below 60000.
But if you belong to a reserved category like SC, ST, or OBC, then you may have a better chance. Also, if you choose branches like Civil or Mechanical, which are less in demand, then you might get a seat in later rounds.
There is also a small chance through management quota or casual vacancy rounds if some seats are left.

NIE Mysore is generally ranked higher by prominent ranking agencies. For instance, according to NIRF, NIE is ranked in the 151-200 band, while VVCE falls into the 251-300 band.NIE appears to have slightly better placement records, with a higher highest package of 56 LPA and an average package of 9 LPA compared to VVCE's 33 LPA and 6 LPA respectively.
While VVCE offers a good learning environment and encourages student activities, NIE's stronger reputation, better placement records, and autonomous status make it the preferred choice for those seeking a Computer Science-related field.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on your individual preferences, career goals, and the specific program details you are looking for. It is recommended to thoroughly research both institutions, consider campus visits if possible, and talk to current students or alumni to gain a deeper understanding before making a decision.
