The college has been providing hostel facilities to the out-station college students from the session 2008-09. University Grants Commission has recently provided financial assistance to build a modern well-equipped women's hostel on the college campus. Candidates, seeking accommodation in the hostel, have to pay hostel caution money and other charges, as noted below, at the time of admission.
The college Ex-students of the college are offered active participation in the all-round development of the college.
The College has a moderately furnished computerized and well-ventilated library. The main objective of the library is to fulfill the information needs of the students and teachers in the form of study materials such as Books, Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, audiovisual materials, etc. Question banks for previous years are also available in CD form. The Library is well stocked with more than 15,000 books. It has a spacious reading hall for the students and teachers. The Library remains open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The College offers the BEST LIBRARY USERS AWARD to the students who make the best use of the library. The library has an Advisory Committee to chalk out plans for implementation of the same.
The college has a Sports Club of the college organizes various sports and games around the year. Short coaching in athletics and outdoor games like volleyball, Badminton, and Cricket is provided to the students on the college campus. Occasional coaching is also provided by the District Sports Association, Silchar to which the Sports Club of the college is affiliated. Competitions in all category sports are organized annually, winners are awarded attractive prizes, of which one is 'Best Sports Women of the Year'.
The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.
The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.
There is a Students' Health Care Centre on campus. The students thus can get an opportunity for free periodical medical check-ups and advice from a qualified Doctor. The center is looked after by the student's Health Care Committee.
The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
On the college premises, there is a canteen that provides snacks and tea. The canteen can adequately meet the needs of the students.
The college provides basic facilities needed for arts students, classrooms are simple but sufficient and library has a fair collection of books on education, psychology and teaching related topics. Since it is a women's college the environment is safe and disciplined.
The college has average facilities, classrooms are quite big but mostly traditional chalk and board not tech-enabled. The library is useful with commerce books and many other like competitive exam books also. And there is a campus lab also. The campus is clean and safe for students.
Women's college Silchar has a compact but decent campus. Classrooms are simple and functional, though not very modern, wifi and smart boards are not there. The Library is helpful with a good collection of textbooks and reference materials for arts and commerce.
