72 MonthsPh.D Computer Science and Engineering is a full time course. The minimum period of residential requirement for study and research at the institute from the date of registration to the date of submission of thesis shall be 36 months. A candidate is normally expected to submit his/her thesis within five years from the date of registration. This period may be extended by the Senate as a special case to a maximum of seven years from the date of registration after which the registration shall stand cancelled.
All candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. programme shall have to possess requisite marks/grades in qualifying examination as shown below:
60% marks (or CGPA of 6.5 on 10-point scale) in the qualifying examination in Engineering/Sciences/Commerce/Management
OR,
55% in Humanities or Social Sciences (or CGPA of 6.0 on 10-point scale)
Admission to Ph.D. (Full-time) programmes will be based upon performance of the candidates in the written test to be conducted by the institute and the recommendations of a panel of experts before which the candidate(s) is required to make a presentation on a topic of his/her proposed area of research using power point presentation.
