If you are preparing for CAT exam on a serious note, there won't be any problem preparing for IIFT too, provided you know the correct strategy for it! only the strategy of how you should play in the required format changes. So is the case with IIFT and other similar entrance exams apart from the CAT.
Firstly, from this year onwards, IIFT is conducted by NTA, so for the first time this year, IIFT will be conducted online just like any other MBA entrance exams! So there are two pros mainly I can think of -
This exam mainly consists of six sections -

Hello Aspirant
It depends on your interests like if you are looking for Marketing or HR profiles then go for IIM Ranchi.
And for other specialization like finance , Ops etc. , IIFT Kolkata is a better option considering it is an older brand and placements are conducted along with IIFT Delhi.
IIM Ranchi has an IIM tag and it will also grow fast.
IIFT Kolkata has a brand leagacy and the placements are also conducted with IIFT Delhi.
Hope it helps :)

Hi bs rao,
Though the CAT score is important, there are other relative factors which will finally decide your conversion. At this stage what you have in your hand is only one thing: “the best impression you can leave on the interview panel”. Be smart and intelligent in your answers so that they just cannot deny you the admission!!
IIFT exam score has got significant weightage in determining the final convert list. However, your performance in WAT-GD-PI plays an important role too. Usually, GWPI has 30–40% weightage, including points for diversity (academic/ gender).
Having said that, a 99 percentiler does have an edge over a 95 percentiler but GWPI can be a game change
thank you
Dear Aspirant,
Among these the most important exams you must prepare for is XAT and IIFT. XAT is primarily for the XLRI which is the best management institute for the MBA - HR in the country.
You should also prepare for the IIFT as it is the institute which calls students only on the basis of IIFT test score and do not care about the past academic performance.
Hope this helps. Thank you.
Dear,
You can upload your NC OBC certificate for the IIFT that was issued by the state government. But the caste name must be letter by letter the exact same that is required. Also, if you are classified as OBC by state but not by the central government then you are not eligible for reservation, as IIFT is run by the central government’s Ministry of Trade and Commerce. You can also self attest the copy of the certificate.
Hope this helps!
