NEHU Shillong Admission Process

For North Eastern Hill University admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, candidates have to follow the NEHU Shillong admission criteria, which is different for different courses. For BA LLB (H) programme, candidates have to appear for a written test.

NEHU Shillong admission for B.Tech and B.Arch programme, candidates have to appear for JEE Main for B.Tech and NATA for B.Arch. Candidates have to appear for GATE for the M.Tech programme. North East Hill University Shillong admission to the M.B.A programme, candidates have to appear for the MAT exam.

The NEHU Shillong admission to M.Tech programme is based on GATE examination. The NEHU Shillong M.Tech admission process is given below.

First, meet the eligibility criteria.
Second, appear for GATE.
Third, the result will be declared and the cutoff will be released.
Fourth, candidates will be selected on the basis of merit scores of GATE.
Fifth, if there are insufficient GATE-qualified candidates, then the vacant seats will be filled through the university entrance exam.
Sixth, candidates appearing for the university entrance exam will be selected on the basis of merit scores of the entrance test.
Seventh, selected candidates have to submit the documents and pay the fees.

The curriculum is quite good. It is quite interesting. And the quality of education is good and improvised. The teaching is quality and notes are timely provided. The development is by far going quite fast.

The University has some of the most capable minds teaching young people. I studied in the Department of English, and the faculty there is world class. The Professors are approachable and I am still in contact with them after years of graduation. They are willing to help the students out anytime, to the best of their abilities.

With a rank of 166548 in JEE Mains, it might be difficult to get into NEHU (North Eastern Hill University) or any of the NITs through the regular rounds. However, you still have a chance in the CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) rounds, especially if you belong to a reserved category or if some seats remain vacant after the main counselling rounds.

In CSAB rounds, you might get a seat in some NITs or other government colleges, but the chances are low for high-demand branches like Computer Science or Electronics.
