Balanced Studies and Extra Curricular activities

    College Infrastructure

All the facilities are up to the mark. We get 24/7 wi-fi in both the college campus and the hostel. The labs, classrooms, and libraries are well-equipped. The quality of the food is okay, and in the hostel, we get four meals a day for 3000 INR per month. The canteen, medical facilities, sports, and games are good, and there are trained coaches for different games who are very supportive.

    Academics

The teachers are highly knowledgeable and cooperative. However, sometimes they fail to finish the syllabus on time. Exams are of medium to hard level, and students need to complete the syllabus properly, or at least be familiar with previous years' question papers. The pass percentage is around 70%.

    Placements

The placement rate for the B.Tech. in Electronics Communication Engineering program is very good, with almost 90% of students getting placed. The highest salary offered was 24 LPA, the lowest was 3.5 LPA, and the average salary is around 6-7 LPA. Companies that visit the most are TCS, Infosys, and Nutanix. The roles offered are Software Development Engineer, Software Reliability Engineer, and Marketing.

    College Infrastructure

In Asansol Engineering College, there are super-quality Wi-Fi, computer labs, classrooms, and libraries that are neat and clean; also, there are very good quality facilities; very good quality food is available in our college mess and canteen; and there are also present emergency medical facilities on the hostel campus; there is a playground to play cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, etc. at Asansol Engineering College.

    Academics

At Asansol Engineering College, there are also so many faculty professors who guide us every day to achieve goals in our lives; their teaching quality is really very good. The B.Tech course curriculum is much more relevant, and it makes the students perfectly industry-ready. In this college semester, exams are not very difficult. Every year, almost 50% of students have scored above 8 CGPA; 40 out of 100 is the pass mark in each subject.

    Placements

Every year around 90% of students got placed from different fields like CSE, IT, ECE, and EE in different companies like TCS, WIPRO, COGNIZANT, etc. The highest offered package is above 12 LPA, the average package is near about 8-9 LPA, and the minimum offered package is at least 3-4 LPA.

    Good Education with Experienced faculty

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is wonderful and enjoyable. There is connected Wi-Fi in our hostel, and the college has its own tower for the network. The classrooms look wonderful and clean, and our college has a library where students can take books. A maximum of 5 books can be taken from the library at a time.

    Academics

The teacher quality is good but not too good. Students need to study from the Internet and outside the college, e.g., tuition, and coaching centers. Teachers are not helpful to students. I prefer YouTube as a good platform for learning, and there are teachers with higher standards.

    Placements

Above 50% of students are placed in our department. The lowest package of information Technology is 3.5 LPA (TCS), and the highest package is 22 LPA, but only one student got the highest package. The average package is 5-7 LPA. The mass recruitment companies are TCS and Cognizant, and the minimum package of TCS is 3.5 LPA.

    College Infrastructure

Overall, infrastructure is not that good. Classrooms and libraries are okay. Hostel facilities are also okay. Canteen food is bad. Various sports and games are available. Medical facilities are okay. There is no ragging for hostel boys, especially for 1st years CCTV cameras are everywhere.

    Academics

Few teachers might help students, but most of them are not that good. Teaching is not effective. It’s better to study on their own. Course curriculum is okay (not all subjects are needed in the future). Semester exams are very difficult. Guarding is strict. Teachers are quite strict.

    Placements

The highest salary package offered was 24 LPA and the average salary package offered was 4 LPA-6 LPA. Top recruiting companies: Amazon, Microsoft, Google, TCS, IBM, etc. In terms of internships, most students take opportunities from lower-tier companies just for the experience.

    College Infrastructure

There are all kinds of basic facilities available at our college. Our college has a Wi-Fi facility and library with all types of books available there. We also have many labs like IT project lab, software engineering lab, an IT workshop, etc. The quality of food provided in the hostel and canteen is average.

    Academics

Teachers are very helpful, polite, and supportive. Most of them are PhD holders, so they are very well educated, no doubt. Course curriculum is relevant as it has subjects like C+, Java, Python, AI/ML, and Core subjects like COA, DSA, and OS in its syllabus. Semester exams are quite difficult here, students have to start studying at least 1 month before the exam to get a good CGPA.

    Placements

Around 80% of students are placed every year. The highest salary package offered on-campus ranges from 12 LPA-13 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 5 LPA- 6 LPA and the lowest salary package offered ranges from 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Capgemini, etc. Talking about Internships, our college didn't give on-campus internships but we can apply for off-campus. Many students got internships in Tech Giants.

    College Infrastructure

Our college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities, and equipment like we have a very large playground and a basketball ground. We have all the required laboratories full of equipment and updated computers with Wi-Fi connection and smart board. we have a central Library with all the required books available there. All the types of equipment are well-maintained. We have a boy's Hostel as well as a Girl's Hostel inside the college campus which is a very good thing. The college has a Guest House also for the faculties who are from outside or came from other states. overall the college infrastructure and facilities are very good.

    Academics

I am a 2nd-year student studying B.Tech in Information Technology. In my Department all the teachers and faculties are excellent. The maximum of them are Ph.D holders and Master's. They all are very friendly. Other dept faculties are also very friendly and educated all of them are Ph.D holders and Master's Degrees. I think our curriculum is updated and includes all the recent technologies like AI/ML, Web/App development, DevOps etc. From 1st year onwards students start learning DSA and Development which will be very helpful for there upcoming years.

    Placements

About placement, I would say it is Good every year around 80% of students are placed the highest package offered on-campus is 12-13 LPA, the average is 5-6 LPA, and the lowest is 3-4 LPA. In off-campus, the highest is 22-24 LPA which is from the IT dept. No the placement process is not easy you have to work hard on your technical skill set as well as communication skills.

    Value for Money

I am doing B. Tech in Information Technology so my course fee per year is 1.4 L. which is a moderate fee not too high or not too low. I feel I'm getting my money's worth as this college is giving a placement guarantee.

    Campus Life

Campus life at this college is vibrant and full of fun! From lively cultural events to endless laughter with friends, every day is an adventure. affordable living adds charm to the memorable journey. the college is near the highway so it is in the best location also there are 2 hospitals near the college so it can handle emergencies.

    My college experience was average.

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is adequate, featuring basic amenities and some modern facilities, but it lacks in certain areas such as advanced labs and updated classroom technology. While the campus is generally well-maintained, some buildings and resources could benefit from upgrades to enhance the overall learning environment.

    Academics

The academics at the college are decent but not exceptional, with a mixed quality of instruction and curriculum rigor. While some courses and professors stand out positively, others lack depth and engagement, resulting in an average learning experience. Overall, the college provides a satisfactory academic environment, but there is room for improvement.

    Placements

The placement opportunities at the college are satisfactory but have room for improvement, which is why I rated them 3 out of 5. While there are some reputable companies visiting the campus, the overall number of offers and the diversity of roles could be better to match students' expectations and aspirations.

    Value for Money

The college received a value for money rating of 2 out of 5, indicating significant room for improvement. The cost of tuition and fees does not align well with the quality of education, facilities, and services provided, suggesting that students may not be getting adequate returns on their investment.

    Campus Life

Campus life at my college is vibrant and engaging, with a wide range of extracurricular activities and clubs that cater to diverse interests. The campus facilities are excellent, providing a supportive environment for both academic and social growth. The community is welcoming, though there is always room for improvement in certain areas, hence the 4 out of 5 rating.

    Overall Review of AEC

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

The sports facilities are too good to be true. There's cricket and football grounds on campus and volleyball and basketball court facilities are also there. In college, you don't have to worry about your extracurricular activities; well-maintained grounds are there.

    Academics

As usual, as per engineering college, you have to do your own study. There are some faculty who are supportive but you have to do it all on your own. About the exam, there are 4 CA exams and 1 main semester exam after six months. The first 2 CA exams are more important for attendance.

    Placements

Because of the recession, the college campus is not doing that well, but the highest placement from the college for this year is 22 lpa from the information technology department. Previous year, college placement was good but not overall good, and average placement on campus is around 3 lpa.

Have a question related to AEC Asansol ?

cain i get AEC instrumentation with rank 2400 ST(p)

    Hello Aspirant,

We all know that since the official cut-off details from the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), hasn't released till now, it's quite impossible for anyone to make any accurate remark about the precise cut-off marks for this year of any college.

So I would like to recommend you to go through this following Careers360 article:

    https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/assam-cee-cutoff

    https://engineering.careers360.com/exams/assam-cee

Though the cut-off marks will vary every year depending upon several determining factors (like number of appeared canditates, number of successful candidates, total number of available seats, highest marks of ACEE 2022, difficulty level of question paper etc), still as per our assumption and after thoroughly analysing the previous year's cut-off details it can be definitely estimated that since you're an ST(P) category student you've enough possibilities to get admitted in your desired college i.e. Assam Engineering College, Guwahati in instrumentation department.

You can also get chance in other departments in this renowned institutions like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Telecommunication etc.

You can also check in other Government and Private Engineering colleges in your state, follow the link for this:

    https://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-engineering-colleges-in-assam

Hope you'll get benefitted with the answer. If you still have any question you can easily ask in the comment section, I will definitely answer.

Wish you all the best for your future.

    Dear aspirant!!

    Hi,

    Firstly, Asansol Engineering college :

    • Location is decent, in the heart of the city.

    • Teaching style is good, but at the end of the day you have to study on your own as well.

    • Placement cell is very active, students of CS and IT branches get job offers from TCS, IBM etc.

    • WBJEE cutoff trend -

    WBJEE
    Round 2019 Cut-off by rank 2020 Cut-off by rank 2021 Cut-off by rank

    2 24150 - 28641
    3 24357 - 31878

    Now, BC Roy :

    • Location is in the outskirts of the city, in a bit isolated place - which is the case of most engineering colleges here in West Bengal.

    • Teaching is decent, but placement is average. They try to bring good companies, though.

    • WBJEE cutoff trend -

In my opinion Asansol Engineering College is better.
