Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Chennai Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

The Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, and is one of the leading women's colleges affiliated to the University of Madras. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in a wide range of disciplines. CTTEWC follows an inclusive and transparent admission process based on merit. The admission cycle of CTTEWC generally begins some time after the announcement of 10+2 results which are mostly in May-June, with classes commencing in August-September from this cycle. It offers 16 courses in 9 degree programs. It has a total of 11 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate courses, and all are full-time courses.

In terms of primary eligibility for admission to the undergraduate programs, the student should have completed successfully a 10+2 or an equivalent examination conducted by an approved board. Admission will happen based on the percentage obtained in the qualifying examination. There are some other norms in the case of postgraduate programs which say that a candidate must have procured his bachelor's degree in a relevant field and must have achieved a specified minimum percentage according to the body norms.

Application Process

1. Obtaining Application Form: Obtain the application from the college office or download it from the official college website and fill it out.

2. Fill in the application form: Fill the application form with all necessary information. Provide accurate contact details and academic information.

3. Attach necessary documents: Along with the application form, the candidates are supposed to submit the following documents:

Admission Process for Each Degree

B.Sc Computer Science: This is one of the flagship programs at CTTEWC with an approved intake of 100 students. Inter marks in Mathematics and Computer Science are used for admission.

B.Com: The college has a number of B.Com programs such as general B.Com, B.Com Corporate Secretaryship, and B.Com Accounting and Finance. Admission is made based on merit derived from marks in the qualifying examination.

BA English: With an intake of 70 approved students, the program selects based on the marks obtained in the English and relevant subjects during the 10+2 examination.

B.Sc Chemistry: With an authorized intake of 32 students, this program selects based on performance in Chemistry and other science subjects in the 10+2 examination.

M.Com: This post-graduate program has an approved intake of 70. Admission is based on the marks obtained in the relevant bachelor's degree, which is generally B.Com or related fields.

MA English: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in English or related fields to apply. The admission process is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the undergraduate program.

MSW (Master of Social Work): This program is focused on providing professional social work education. Admissions are based on the performance of the candidates in their bachelor's or undergraduate degrees and may include an interview process.

M.Phil English and M.Phil Commerce: Candidates seeking to study these research-centered programs must sit for a written entrance exam and a personal interview at the college as regulated by the University Guidelines.
