Hii..
As per this year Cutoff For genaral Category is 83.5 approx..& For OBC cutoff should not be declared officially But Itay be around 75-76 percentile..

You have very good chance to get FMS BHU.
I think the result Had been already Declared..You mag get Converted or in waiting list..It depends on number.of candidate Who took admission..Normally In OBC the waiting list moved Up to 40-50 rank.

Greetings Ramkumar!

Hope you're doing great.

You have a decent profile to give a shot for IIMs Especially the new ones. Common Admission Test(CAT) is one of the most difficult management entrance examinations in India. Every year more than than 2 lacs+ aspirants appear for the best and the only handful of creamy layers get admission into IIMs.

Now, assuming that you've scored 99 percentile and belong to General Category then the chances of getting into top IIM(A+B+C) is low. The competition is tough and especially for those who belong to Engineering Background. There are students with stellar records such as 90+ overall and there is priority 1 when it comes to allocating the seats. Let's take an example, suppose you're aiming for IIM Ahmedabad then: From your previous academic score you'll get somewhere around 8+6+5=19 as your AR(Application Rating Score) out of 30. Then in order to compensate your Composite Score close to 0.73(which was the cutoff of 2018), you must score around 99.7+percentile. Every single percentile added in the end will make a huge difference for getting a call. Hope things are clear now. The stakes are high and one should focus on getting as high CAT score as possible.

However, there are many other institutes where you'll have a clear shot at admission. Such as FMS, IMT, MDI etc. These institutes are at par with any top IIMs and have amazing placements. FMS is known as the best ROI b-school. Do check out all the options.

All the best!

Cheers!

Noo..You can't get it.

According To last year trend In any of the FMS in india Will never give admission At this percentile.

FMS delhi-Only CAT

FMS-BHU-CAT

FMS-Vadodara- CMAT-90+ percentile for general.

soo prepare For one year Again & Get a good score To get in to any of the FMS.

Hii Reha

Congratulations firstly on getting an above average academics score . Yes ofcourse you stand a chance to get a call from the Faculty Of Management Studies , New Delhi. You even belong to a reserved cateogory that again increases the chances of you getting through the admissions process and finally getting a seat in FMS . Best of luck

Hope it helps

Thanks

HI,

You need to appear for entrance exam namely CAT

CAT is not a knowledge intensive exam. It is all about one’s basic quantitative, analytical, logical reasoning and English language skills. You can read and learn the concepts, but it needs a good amount of practice to develop these skills. You can very well prepare on your own given that you remain sincere to your preparation. But, joining a test series and regularly attempting mock tests is important.

For those preparing by themselves, be dedicated and regular. Take as many mock tests as you can, analyse each one and work on your weak areas. Read a lot of books and most important, be self-motivated.

It is all about practice, practice and practice,Apart from practice, reading was the key for verbal ability

During the exam, be calm and do not think about attempting any particular number of questions. You have to focus on accuracy while trying to attempt as many questions as possible. At the end of the day, it is just an exam and your attitude towards it will define how well you perform.

WAT-PI round is the next stage of the selection process.

No such syllabus for WAT ,A good way to start with would be to read up on all the current news, be it of national or international importance.

The WAT topic will never be something that candidates are not aware of, as usually general abstract concepts are asked. In case it is not a familiar topic,  examples or daily life incidents that can be correlated with the topic, could be used to build the essay. Her WAT topic was ‘Why should people in metro cities be encouraged to use public transport?’

'Is having many good friends better than having a 1-2 best friends?'

practising how to write argumentative essays is a good idea. While some need to work harder on their verbal and writing skills,

one should always stick to the point, and not writing unnecessary content to increase the length of the essay, as it will be judged on the quality and not the quantity of work.

GOOD LUCK

Hi Diganta, yes certainly you can have a chance to get in, provided you have a very high CAT score. Since both these colleges, do not give much higher weightage to graduation and schooling scores, there are very good chances, if you have percentiles around 99+ in CAT. This however will have some problem wherein they would be asking about this low score in PI rounds. So be prepared to give a solid answer for this downfall in graduation score.

hi,

I checked the official webpage of FMS delhi. it clearly mention that u need to have 10+2 +degree with 50% no criteria. after seeing your profile I calculate that u have 10+3 + degree. in this regard u may not be eligible . but I am giving u the mail id of admission cell of FMS delhi. in mail state your problem. some times there maybe another rule for diploma candidate like you.

Hello nikhil,

As you asked for the location where the FMS personal interview will be held from April 12 to 18. These interviews will be held in north campus of delhi university in different slot at the given time.

All the candidates have to reach there on April 12 as declared. So reach there on time and do your best in interview.

Hope it helps.

Thank you:)

Hello Bhavya,

There are few important things one you should take care while preparing for IIMs or FMS.

  • Class 10th and 12th percentage(above 90%)
  • Graduation CGPA at least above 8
  • Job experiences
  • CAT score

So, the gap year will not at all affect your selection in any of the top b-schools. Just take care of things mentioned above. Thought the most important part is CAT score. Also, I suggest you to get a job experience in the year you are dropping. You can also apply to diploma courses other wise it is fine to drop now.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is different from department to department. Some departments have really high-tech facilities, and others are pretty basic. Libraries are fantastic for marketing resources. There are some problems with parking and Wi-Fi on many campuses.
