Dear Rishi,

To get a call from IIM - ABC one needs to score 99-98 percentile in CAT. Also old IIMs consider your 10th , 12th and graduation marks for the final merit. Start preparing for it and bell the CAT.

GOOD LUCK

Hi Bhawesh! Since you have an average past academic record, you have to secure more than 95 percentile to secure call from FMS Delhi. However, securing a high percentile is not the only criterion to convert the call as shortlisted candidates have to appear for Extempore and Essay Writing rounds. The final admission are based on the following criteria:

Parameters

Weightage

CAT Score

60 percent

Class X Marks

5 percent

Class XII Marks

5 percent

Group Discussion

10 percent

Extempore

5 percent

Personal Interview

15 percent

Hi Raviprasad,

Yes, FMS provide MBA in HR in Delhi campus. But I would suggest you opt it out. As you are having the better options on the other side. Look, I can help you with this.

If you are particularly focussed on HR, then better focus on institutions like TISS, XLRI, SCMHRD, IIM Ranchi (HRM program).

FMS as such is not good for HR program. Even though you can learn through the electives, you won't get a sufficient number of opportunities in HR function during placements. This is because you won't have a sufficient number of students preferring HR as a career option at FMS and because of this recruiters will not be interested in visiting FMS for recruiting for HR function.

But in case if you cannot get an admission offer from the above-stated institutions, you can definitely choose FMS over others. As stated in answers given by others, you can shift from other functions to HR function later in your career, though it is difficult. In addition to this, who knows, you might get interested in other functions like Marketing, Operations etc.. during MBA and in such case, an MBA from FMS is definitely the best.

All The Best!

Well, FMS, NEW DELHI opens its portal just once and yes you had to fill the form during that period only. If you had a concern regarding your percentile, then your mocks would have been an indicator of what percentile could be anticipated, and looking into that you must have applied for FMS. Anyway, never matter, you still have a good number of colleges in your hand and if you are expecting a really good percentile then all the IIMs are there.
All the best!!

After CAT exam every IIM prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview based on your aggregate score which comprises of many parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non-engineer, gender whose weight varies for all different IIMs. In this work-experience weight is generally from 5-10%. There are few IIMs like IIm Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode which gives a little more weight to work experience.

FMS is one of the few among the top reputed colleges which does not have any weight for academic records and work experience. FMS has 85% weight of CAT marks, 10% of the Personal interview, 5% for extempore. And from last 2 years, it has started giving additional 3% weight to girls. So, in short, to get an admission in FMS you need to aim for a very high percentile around 99 percentile to get a call and 99.5+ to be on safe side of getting admission.

Work experience definitely has its perks during selection and also during placements is not mandatory for doing MBA. In every college, there are 20-30% freshers.

FMS is one of the best college for Management Programme. FMS admission is based on CAT percentile, Group discussion & Interview only not academic. You should have more than 98 percentile to get admission there.

The eligibility

To apply in FMS you should have the minimum score 50% in class 12th as a general category & 45% as a reserved category.

As per the analyzing report of Careers 360 it has AAAA+ rating which means out standing. For the genuine reviews of the college you can go through with given below link.

FMS Delhi Reviews

Even after getting percentile above 99 there is no surity for you to end up in top IIMs A, B, C. Generally according to trend from few last years if you are an engineer you get call for an interview from IIM A and IIM C if you have pointer 99.6 and above. IIM B follows a little more complex procedure as it prefers students with high work experience or the one who were outstanding in their 10th 12th like scoring above 97% in both the exams.

Coming to FMS, there is 85% weightage for CAT exam marks 10% interview and 5% for extempore speech. They have eve m started giving 3% extra weightage for girls. With the high CAT marks weightage there is no surity of getting selected in FMS with 99 percentile. You need to have atleast 99.5 above to increase your probability of getting selected.

Now for the selection between IIMs and FMS.
The best thing about FMS is that it has best ROI with negligible fees of two years you end up with a very good job and a high package. FMS avg package by last year was 20 lakh. On the other end in IIMs like A,B,C you earn a brand name with a very huge network which helps you in long run. No doubt from these colleges also you end up with a very good Job with a fat salary but here you also need to pay a huge fees.

Generally students prefer IIM A,B,C over FMS because of a better exposure, different environment of having a campus, extra curricular activities which are more intense because of a whole campus also help in growing up. Also if you are eager to learn in a hard and better way which will help you in long run then no doubt IIM A,B, C are better.

Other than IIM A,B,C if we come to next IIMs like L,K,I then most of the students prefer FMS over these IIMs because of better ROI and also you're able to get a better kick start. In the end it's more or less for good job with a good package is one of the key thing which drives a student for pursuing MBA. If you are looking forward to be an entrepreneur then FMS is the best collegeto complete your MBA because you won't need to pay loans that is taken for college fees.

In short nothing is simple and straightforward even because of all these factors every year some students prefer FMS over IIM A,B,C.

So in the end it is your call to analyse all the factors and choose the best college. But before that aim for very high percentile because literally it's not easy to get admission in any of these colleges. I have seen my friend failing to end up in IIM A,B, C and FMS with 99.83 percentile.

Work hard, aim for very high percentile and all the best for your exams.

Being a central university, its campus is well maintained. Classrooms are tidy, air-conditioned or otherwise, and well equipped with projectors and comfortable chairs. The library is superb spacious, friendly, quiet, and well stocked with management books, journals, and access to electronic libraries.

Diverse campus life, affordable, varying placements ????

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is different from department to department. Some departments have really high-tech facilities, and others are pretty basic. Libraries are fantastic for marketing resources. There are some problems with parking and Wi-Fi on many campuses.
