Dear Sudipta,
Sorry to say this. It is too difficult to get computer science stream with your rank. You can try your best in JEE advanced, to make it possible or check for private Institutes which consider JEE marks (even then it is bit difficult).
All the best..!!
Hi Dhirendra,
Thanks for asking careers360,
One of the most prominent educational institutions of the state, Heritage Institute of Technology, WB, has got on-campus accommodation for students. However, there are a plenty of off-campus housing options for students within walking distance from the campus.
As for on-campus housing, there are a total of 4 Halls for Boys and 6 Halls for Girls.
The basic amenities included are -
1. Spacious rooms to be shared by 2 or 3 students.
2. Meals - Generally 3 times a day, along with options to make your own mini-meals at the Hall kitchens.
3. High-Speed Internet connectivity via WiFi and/or LAN.
4. Access to sporting and recreational zones.
5. Easy connectivity to Ruby Island.
The off-campus housing properties are generally of two types -
1. Private Housing, which are similar to on-campus housing facilities. Rooms based on twin sharing or triple sharing basis are available. Food and internet are included. Rents are near INR 5300 for twin-sharing basis with common washrooms and INR 5500 for twin-sharing with private washrooms.
Example: M.B. Hostel, Vivekananda Hostel, Swaraswati Hostel et al.
2. Shared Housing, where 3-4 students need to find their way out for food, internet, and amenities. A large number of such properties are located in two primary regions, (a) R.R. Plot and (b) Kalikapur. Rents vary from INR 3000 to INR 8000 per person per apartment.
Based on student feedback, all the three are equally beneficial. On-campus students, however, have strict norms regarding timing, which is not the case as of those living in off-campus housing.

Classrooms are well-organised. They are too big spacious enough to sit. The college is fully Wi-Fi enabled, but the network is the worst, so no one uses it. There is a hostel facility for girls and Boys, but it is just average. The campus is very large, so there are very sports grounds like cricket, football, basketball, and table tennis.
Labs and library are up to the mark . The library is more than sufficient for every student and every semester the college provides recommended books from the library for the course . The canteen is also hygienic and charges reasonably for students. Table tennis, basketball, basketball ,football ,cricket every type of sport is available for the students . So it's a good experience for everyone. Additionally, there are many clubs available to join. There are various events and festivals going on through the year. Anyone can participate in them .
The classrooms are big and spacious with projectors there is AC in the classrooms, there is AC available in the lab. The labs are well-equipped with the latest technologies. There is a huge library with 1000 of books and they provide books for each semester. There is a hostel for girls inside the campus, but for boys, the hostel is for their first year only.
