hello,

yes, you can appear in wbjee next year and withdraw your admission from IEM as well as from MAKAUT. If you want Jhadhavpur University you have to bring the rank in under 100 in order to get CSE, under 300-400 for IT and ECE. If you are from west bengal then its more easy as compared to non bengali candidates as JU takes more tahn 50% bengali candidates. So accordingly you have to work hard.

Though IEM is also one of the top college in west bengal but as compared to JU its foolish to compare soo

all the best!!

Institute of Engineering and Management is among the top private Engineering colleges of Bengal and the placements of IEM Is pretty impressive. This college has been among top 5 private Engineering colleges of West Bengal for years. Careers360 has rated IEM with AAA+ grade. While it has been ranked at 191 position by NIRF among Engineering colleges of India.

UEM and IEM are under the same governing body. The only difference is that IEM is affiliated to the state technical board, while UEM is an autonomous University. The course fee is more in UEM as its an autonomous University. Apart from this, there is no such difference. Till now UEM has not received any remarkable ranking in national level.

Almost same companies recruit from these two colleges. Several Software and IT companies come for recruiting CSE and IT Engineers. Along with software companies, various Educational organisations, business development centres, Sales, marketing companies also recruit from here. TCS, ITC Infotech, L&T, Capgemini, Infosys, Cognizant, IBM, Microsoft, Amazon, BYJU's, Deloitte etc hire CS and IT Engineers.

Hello aspirant, hope you are doing good.

So, to answer your question. I'm really sorry to tell you that it's not really possible for you to get ECE in IEM kolkata, because the cutoffs as of last year for last extended till 25k for SC category, in JEE Mains. So , you don't really have much chances.

If you want to know about all the colleges you can get into with your JEE Mains rank , you can get it here:

Hey Aspirant,

Regarding your query, now I'm going to discuss about the placement wings of this renowned institution named 'Institute of Engineering and Management' (IEM) , Kolkata.

Most of us know that, in this developing market of unemployability, the placements are not only dependable on the market’s demands or company’s recruitment policies, the most important thing regarding this is the candidate’s own creative and technical skills and other necessary positive qualities. However here I must mention one special thing about IEM that in this college among the B. Tech courses both CSE and IT has almost 100% placement records considering those candidates who sit for campus-placement. This college has the highest in-campus placement record of 25 lakhs per annum and the highest off-campus record of 39 lakhs per annum (Amazon). And the most importantly their average package of every  year is 5-5.5 lpa .

Many genuinely eminent companies like TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, CTS, Infosys etc are the mass recruiters in this renowned institution. Moreover as IEM is situated in the crib of the IT hub of Kolkata, multiple popular companies like Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Fusion Charts, IBS Software Think & Learn Pvt. Ltd, Hitachi Consulting, Asahi India Glass, Johnson Controls, Videocon, Godrej, Cummins, CGI etc visit its campus every year. Apart from CSE-IT, the average placement records of other departments are quite impressive providing around 70-75% jobs offered by both multinational companies and startups and various top roles like designer, tester, analyser, developer, technician, administrator, supporter etc are also offered to the candidates there.

You can also go through Careers360 article to be known about the detailed information of IEM in this context through the following link:

Wish you all the best.

Hope that this informations are too much sufficient for you.

hi,

see cutoff score changes every year and it depends on certain factors like number of applicant, questions difficulty level, seat matrix. you did not mention how many year of gap you have, but if you have more than 2 years gap in academic , starting from 10th to upto graduation it would have problem during the placement time. also since you have below of 70% in 12th you are not eligible to appear in some of the companies recruitment process. however for this year wbjee or jee main score you have less chances in any tier 1 institute. so prepare hard and think before taking any more gap. times changes rapidly and you never know what is waiting in future. if possible also try to apply for other state colleges or other entrance test.

Hello, you have not mentioned your category so, I am assuming you to be in general category and for general category student last year cutoff was in 473- 1780 in third round of counseling. So, apply for counseling your chances can be there. Your chances of getting IT branch looks good. Wait till last round of counseling. If you have any category it would definitely help you.

Refer to this link it will help you a lot https://dqxeclau.top/wbjee-college-predictor

All the best.
Hope this will help you.

Hello there,

Since you have not mentioned specifically which branch you want to get admission in, I'm gonna answer this on a general perspective.

As per your rank and percentile and comparing to previous years cutoff it's gonna be hard for you to get admission in IEM or Heritage institute of technology. Although you can try in Techno India. However I suggest you to contact the admission cell of the respective colleges and see whether you can get admission there.

To know your admission chances in JOSSA counseling & State counseling, You can use JEE Main college Predictor tool.

College Infrastructure: 3.4/5
Academics: 4/5
Placements: 4.2/5
Value for Money: 2.7/5
Campus Life: 3.3/5

only come here if u dont get in somewhere else

College Infrastructure

it does have moderately good facilities when compared to other colleges in kolkata (other than JU and IIEST shibpur as they are in a league of their own) but when compared to other top colleges (iem claims to be a top college), it falls short and it falls short by A LOT

My college is best in all Courses.

College Infrastructure

One of the best infrastructure maintained with the equipment needed. Faculties are the best in business best in there field all are the rich in experience in there perticular field. Absolute clean and greeney.

its a good college to study and placements.

College Infrastructure

It has modern classrooms, good labs, and a central library but limited space and several wifi and network issues. Infrastructure is decent but not so good. But they have ac which is good for this summer.
