International School of Business Administration, Indore Admission Process

International School of Business Administration (ISBA) in Indore has emerged as a major player among management schools in the country, synonymous with business administration education of the highest quality. The admission process of ISBA is specifically built to identify candidates that possess a decent academic background and have the potential to make it to management positions. Three postgraduate diploma programs in management (PGDM) are offered, focusing on different realms of specialization in management.

ISBA admires the national-level common entrance test scores like those of CAT and MAT for admission purposes. These tests are good evaluation tests for assessing candidates in management Aptitude. The admission process would usually consist of a written test followed by a personal interview; however, candidates who score higher than 60% in either CAT or MAT may be exempt from the written test and may decide to undergo a personal interview only.

Students are thus advised to regularly check ISBA's website for up-to-date news on application deadlines and other important dates. The preference is bestowed upon those candidates who are potential business managers in any field and have shown a back record of academic excellence.

Application Process

The admission processes of the PGDM program at ISBA involve the following steps:

  1. Entrance Test: Candidates must take either CAT or MAT. These national-level exams will be held at various times of the year. Meanwhile, applications for the February session of MAT generally will close around the first week of March.

  2. ISBA Application: After getting the entrance exam scores, candidates have to apply to ISBA. With respect to the application process, the information should be provided on the official website of the institute.

  3. Written Test: If candidates score below 60% marks in CAT or MAT, they must appear for the written test of ISBA. This test will assist in evaluating management studies aptitude of the candidate.

  4. Personal Interview: All the shortlisted candidates including those exempted from the written test shall be required to participate in a personal interview, which is a very important step of the selection process.

  5. Final Selection: The final selection is made on the basis of scores obtained by the candidate in the entrance exam, the written test (if any), and in the personal interview.

Candidates need to prepare for a personal interview as it plays an important role in the final selection. They must be prepared to discuss their academic background, work experience (if any), and motivation for pursuing a management degree from ISBA.

Degree wise Admission Process

PGDM (Postgraduate Diploma in Management):
This is the flagship programme of ISBA with an intake capacity of 180 students. The course is structured for an aspiring manager from several fields. An admission process is followed after consideration of CAT / MAT scores, written test and personal interview. A candidate with CAT/MAT scores of 60% or above may directly appear for the personal interview.

PGDM in Marketing Management:
This is a specialized program with an intake of 60 students. The admission procedure is the same as for the general PGDM program: scoring on CAT/MAT, a written test, and a personal interview.

PGDM in Retail Management:
Another specialized program with 60 seats and the same admission process as the other PGDM programs. The candidates are evaluated on their weekend exam scores, written test results, and their performance in the personal interview.

Documents Required:

Generally, candidates have to submit the following:

  • Scorecard of entrance test (CAT/MAT)

  • Mark sheets and certificates (10th, 12th, and graduation)

  • Work experience certificates (if applicable)

  • Passport-size photographs

  • Any other documents as might have been mentioned in the institute during the application process
