KGEC Kalyani Admission Process

KGEC Kalyani admissions are offered for B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA courses.
The entrance exams accepted for KGEC Kalyani admissions are WBJEE/GATE/TANCET/WBUT PGET/WB JECA.
KGEC Kalyani seat intake: for B.Tech courses is 300; for M.Tech is 90; and for MCA is 40.
WBJEE board has released the WBJEE 2025 Round 1 seat matrix on August 27, 2025.

KGEC Kalyani offers admissions to the undergraduate B.Tech course and postgraduate M.Tech & MCA courses. Candidates must meet the KGEC Kalyani eligibility criteria to apply to the institute. I studied ECE, but I didn't like or enjoy it much because we didn't have any good or enthusiastic teacher who would make us love the subject its was mostly theoretical, the curriculum is far from being updated so dont expect to get industry level skills.

GMR Rank 16889, SC rank 1411, Can I get Jadavpur B pharma in 2025? or any branches? or can I get CSE/IT in govt. colleges like KGEC ?

If you're a West Bengal domicile,then with a SC rank of 1411 you have a very good chance of getting B.Pharm at Jadavpur University as well as CSE or IT in government college like KGEC , because the SC cutoffs for these seats are usually higher then your rank.But if you're applying as an outside-state candidate,then GMR 16,889 will not be enough for Jadavpur or for CSE in top government colleges,since their general closing rank stay in the low thousands. So, simply if you're a WB domicile you are safe for both Jadavpur and KGEC.If you re from OHS it'll be difficult.

My wbjee rank is 72000 and my sc rank is 8000 can I get cse in heritage or kgec or any government college???

Hello Aspirant,

Your WBJEE rank is 72,000 and SC rank ~8,000; therefore, it is going to be very difficult to get CSE in Heritage or KGEC because those two colleges are usually closed by much lower SC rank. Although the CSE cut-offs at government colleges are also usually lower than yours. You may be able to get other branches in some government engineering colleges or could possibly get CSE in the less preferred private colleges. Well in 1st round of counselling I got Nsec , cse branch my rank is 11K , shall I join it or wait for other rounds for higher preference like IEM , Heritage, Techno main saltlake, Kgec , Jgec , in all I gave cse/IT/ece preference????

To get a clearer picture, let us consider both the cases :

Joining NSEC Now:
- You have secured a seat in CSE, which is a preferred branch.
- If you are okay with NSEC's reputation, placements, and facilities, it can be a safe option.
Waiting for Other Rounds:
- You may get a chance in higher preference colleges with better reputations and placement records.
- There is a risk involved; if you wait and don't get a better option, you might miss out on NSEC as well.

Now based on your situation, my recommendations are :-

Research Thoroughly: Look at the latest placement records, campus facilities, and faculty of NSEC and compare them with your higher preference colleges.
Counselling Trends: Check previous years' counselling trends to gauge the likelihood of getting a seat in the next rounds at your preferred colleges.
Consult with Seniors/Alumni: Talk to current students or alumni of NSEC and your preferred colleges to get a real-world perspective on academics, placements, and campus life.

Based on your research and personal preferences, make an informed decision. If you are confident about getting a seat in one of your higher preference colleges in the next rounds, it might be worth waiting. Otherwise, securing a seat in CSE at NSEC could be a prudent choice.
