Mahatma Gandhi Mission's College of Engineering and Technology (MGMCET) of Noida has a very systematic admission process for potential engineering aspirants. The AICTE-approved institution conducts admissions through national-level and state-level entrance exams. MGMCET's admission process is devised to select deserving candidates for its four-year B.Tech programs in various branches of engineering.
The key means of entering MGMCET is through Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) held by the state government of Uttar Pradesh. The students fill close to 85% of seats based on the entrance examination. In addition, scores of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) are also considered for intake by the institution.
Application Process
Application process in MGMCET is distinct for UPSEE, JEE Main, or available seats:
For admissions under UPSEE:
1. Attend the UPSEE exam organized by the Uttar Pradesh government.
2. Be included in the merit list of UPSEE.
3. Participate in the UPSEE counseling process.
4. On allotment of seat in MGMCET, report to college for document verification and admission process.
For JEE Main admissions:
1. Attend the JEE Main exam.
2. Qualify with a valid score in JEE Main.
3. Apply to MGMCET via the concerned admission procedure for JEE Main candidates.
4. In the event of selection, go through the admission procedure in college.
For vacant seats (if any):
1. Obtain the registration form from MGMCET.
2. Complete the registration form with correct details.
3. Send the form along with required documents to college.
4. Wait for the decision of the college as per their vacant seat eligibility criteria.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: Four B.Tech four-year full-time courses. All the B.Tech courses share the same admission process, which to a large extent depends on UPSEE or JEE Main marks. There is an approved strength of 210 in all the B.Tech courses of the college. This is the list of courses with the intakes:
1. B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering: 90 seats
2. B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering: 60 seats
3. B.Tech in Civil Engineering: 30 seats
4. B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering: 30 seats
Eligibility for B.Tech courses is typically passing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The candidates must pass the UPSEE or JEE Main exam to be considered for admission.
