Naipunnya Business School, Thrissur Admission Process

Naipunnya Business School (NBS) is a well-known institute for postgraduates in Thrissur, Kerala. It is known for its quality management education, functioning under the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and is AICTE-approved. The admission procedure at NBS is comprehensive in order to draw the most deserving candidates for admission into the MBA programme.

NBS admission procedure is primarily exit-based on the performance of applicants in various national and state-level entrance examinations. NBS is accepting the scores of the three most important entrance examinations for the 2024-26: the Common Admission Test (CAT), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), and the Kerala Management Admission Test (KMAT-Kerala). These tests are designed to evaluate the aptitude and skills of candidates pertinent to management studies.

Proceeding from the entrance exam score, short-listed candidates will be called for group discussions (GD) and personal interviews (PI) rounds. 

NBS Application Process

The application process for NBS admission is mentioned below in a detailed manner:

  • Entrance Exam Registration: Candidates must first register and appear for one of the accepted entrance exams - CAT, CMAT, or KMAT Kerala. Each exam has its application process and important dates:
    • For CAT: Candidates should visit the CAT official website to complete the registration process. The exam usually takes place in November and December.
    • For CMAT: Application usually starts in November-December, and the exam is held in January. Candidates are to apply from the official CMAT website.
    • For KMAT Kerala, Application forms can generally be found on the KMAT Kerala official website. The examination is conducted multiple times in a year.
  • NBS Application: After writing/ showing up at the entrance exam, candidates have to directly apply to Naipunnya Business School, while the application form is usually available on the official institute website.
  • Document Submission: Along with the application form, candidates are required to submit the necessary documents for NBS admission purposes.
  • Application Fee Payment: The candidates must pay the application fee required to be paid as mentioned on the NBS website.
  • Shortlisting: Based on the entrance examination scores and other criteria set, NBS will shortlist candidates for the next round of the selection process.
  • Group Discussion and Personal Interview: Those who will be shortlisted will move on to holding a Group Discussion followed by a Personal Interview at either the NBS campus or a designated center.
  • Final Selection: The final selection would be made based on the candidates' performance in the entrance examination, plus their performance in the Group Discussion, as well as the Personal Interview.
  • Convocation of Admission: Notified to such candidates, they will have to confirm NBS admission by paying the requisite fees submitted with the essential documents within the specified deadline.

NBS MBA Admission Process

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at Naipunnya Business School is a two-year full-time course designed to groom future managers. The admission processes for the MBA programme, therefore, are:

  • Candidates should undergo various Entrance Examinations accepted: CAT, CMAT, or KMAT Kerala.
  • Depending upon marks secured in the entrance examinations, candidates will be selected/shortlisted for the next stage.
  • These candidates will be further assessed through a Group Discussion for their team skills and contribution to meaningful discussion.
  • In the last stage lies a Personal Interview where candidates are assessed on their overall personality, communication skills, and management aptitude.
  • The cumulative performance in the Entrance Exams, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview forms the basis for the final selection.
