The National Institute of Securities Markets, Raigad, Maharashtra, NISM offers a wide range of specialised programmes that will equip participants with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the dynamic world of financial markets. National Institute of Securities Markets admission is highly competitive and rigorous, which reflects the commitment of the institute in selecting the most talented and deserving candidates.
Generally, National Institute of Securities Markets admission opens for all the different courses a few months prior to the beginning of the academic year. National Institute of Securities Markets takes admissions based on various national-level entrance examinations depending on the course applied for. For management-related courses, NISM takes into account scores from CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT, and MH-CET.
The minimum eligibility criteria for National Institute of Securities Markets courses differ with the courses. Basically, candidates are required to pass their bachelor's degree or its equivalent from any recognised university by securing the prescribed percentage, which is 50% to 60% normally, though there are some courses that ask for a specific percentage requirements such as working experience in the same field.
Application procedure varies course wise for courses in NISM:
One of the flagship programmes under NISM is PGDM in Securities Markets. It is two-year full time course. It takes candidates by performance in any one of the six All India Common Admission Tests, namely CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT or MH-CET. They go into further rounds of the selection process, as long as the candidate has qualified through a valid cutoff score on any of the examination tests for those.
PG Diploma in Data Science for Financial Markets a unique selection process exists for this one year programme. The applicants are selected based on their profile and performance in an online personal interview. This further enables NISM to assess the academic background and the practical aptitude of the applicant applying for this specialised course.
LLB would probably be focused on financial and securities law, although the LLM offered by NISM is not specified. National Institute of Securities Markets admission would most likely be based upon the candidate's scores in his bachelor's degree in law (LLB) and possibly an entrance exam or interview.
NISM also offers PGPISM (Post Graduate Programme in Investments and Securities Markets). Probably, National Institute of Securities Markets admission will be through entrance exam score and/or interview as in the case of other postgraduate programmes offered at NISM.
