Sahyadri Institute of Management and Research, Ratnagiri admission process was designed to offer the best combination of national- and state-level entrance examinations so that the candidates get selected. The admission cycle of SIMR usually follows the calendar of academics. Application for the forthcoming session is open during the latter half of the year. The institute accepts scores from various entrance exams. This flexibility is given to aspiring candidates. 

The prime entrance examinations that are considered at the time of Sahyadri Institute of Management and Research admission include MAH CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test), CMAT (Common Management Admission Test), MAT (Management Aptitude Test), and ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admission).

Eligibility criteria for the MBA programme at SIMR include a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply, subject to the completion of their degree before the start of the MBA programme. There may be a minimum percentage requirement, which can be checked on the institute's official website or the Sahyadri Institute of Management and Research admission brochure for the current academic year.

• Entrance Examination: Students are asked to take any one of the entrance tests—MAH CET, CMAT, MAT, or ATMA. They need to check the date of respective exams and get registered as soon as possible.
• Application Form: Immediately after the announcement of the entrance examination result, application forms have to be filled out by the aspirants. However, most institutions upload their forms on their sites. In that case, it may also be gathered from the respective admission office.

• Shortlisting: Candidates shortlisted for further rounds of selection may be called upon, which might include:
  • Group Discussion (GD)
  • Personal Interview (PI)
  • Written Ability Test (WAT)
• Final Selection: This will be subject to performance in the entrance exam and then the subsequent selection rounds. The weightage that each component has can vary, and this will need to be ascertained by the institute itself.
• Admission Offer: All selected candidates will be offered admission by SIMR.

The Master of Business Administration programme at Sahyadri Institute of Management and Research is a two-year full-time course with an approved intake of 60 students. The SIMR admission process for the MBA programme is as follows:

• Candidates must appear for any of the accepted entrance exams: MAH AAC CET, CMAT, MAT, or ATMA.
• After obtaining the entrance exam scores, candidates need to apply to SIMR through the institute's application process.
• The shortlisting of the candidates will be based on entrance exam scores and other criteria specified for that academic year.
• Shortlisted candidates may be summoned for further rounds of selection, which might include group discussion and personal interviews.
• Final selection would be based on the performance of the candidate in entrance exams and further selection rounds.

The MBA programme at SIMR is designed so that students take away a general understanding of management principles and business practices, ready for senior positions in business.

At every stage of the application, candidates are required to:

• Keep multiple copies of all documents and a record of all communications with the institute.
