It was established in 1979 and is affiliated underVisveswaraiah Technological University (VTU),Belgaum, Karnataka. The college is located at Dhavalagiri in Dharwad. Though the college has seen a good number of placements in recent years, it has been unable to attract any companies in core department as such civil, mechanical or chemical whereas some companies like TCS selection procedure is for all the branches hence other core branches are depends on it which is completely IT oriented.
It is affliated to VTU.

The college has a huge campus and is located in a convenient location that helps the students with easy traveling. and it also has labs and modern equipment in the college that helps for many students to get knowledge.

SDM is located in Dharwad,Karnataka.It is not known to many people but it is a very good college.It has a good campus area neither too large nor small .Theres also a sports complex and different section are divided for different branch.

Out college infrastructure ha well maintained and there are so many facilities like play ground,zym facilities and basketball tournament in the college and good hostel facilities facilities like and communication skills are required
