The college has two main academic blocks, an administration block and a library apart from the hostel blocks. All the classrooms are equipped with projector facilities and the labs are well-equipped. There are 6 hostel blocks including one separate block for first year boys and similarly for girls.
I am studying B.Tech Computer Science with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Most of the faculty have done their PhDs and the faculty count for each department is pretty good, so is their teaching. My curriculum is updated according to the latest standards and has basic courses that are mandatory for a computer science engineer as well as courses that cover core concepts of AI and ML. We also get to choose which subjects we want to study and under which faculty.
In 2019-2020, over 700 companies have come to VIT Chennai for placements. The highest salary package offered was 40 LPA by Microsoft. The total number of job offers were around 6000 among which around 500 were under the Super Dream category.
All engineering courses cost the same per annum but it differs based on the category in which you get your admission, which in turn, depends on your VITEEE rank. I got my admission in the first category and the total fees per annum was around 1.95 LPA. Yes, the money I spent in it is worth the campus life, teaching services, and other cultural as well as technical exposure I received at the college.
The college has a vast campus of around 180 acres of land. VIT Chennai is well known for its "Green Campus". There are 2 academic blocks and an administration block apart from the 6 hostel blocks, medical center, food court, gym and Library. Sports amenities include basketball grounds, football grounds, tennis court, volley ball court and whatnot. Food court and eateries serve good quality food and the WiFi is also not that bad around the campus. Moreover, the campus is ragging-free.
The infrastructure is really good. With all the necessary equipments for lab practicals. Teacher's use the white board and projectors for presentations. It also has gymnasium and Sports centres. And restaurants and food mart are also present.
I m doing Mechanical, maximum part of syllabus is covered in class. Remaining is part of Industrial visits and guest lectures. The curriculum is updated. IEEE and ISHRAE programs are also provided here.
Over the years, mechanical placements in core industries have comparitively dried up a bit. But the college provides support to get internships in companies . IT sector placements has been improving time to time.
Fees is comparitively on a higher side as compared to other universities. My fees per year is 1.95 lakh. Yes money is worth it.
College is really good. Here students from different parts of India study making it a very diverse place to learn and grow . It is also known as digital campus. Different sports can be played and is a green campus.
Overall college is good with good NIRF rankings as well. With different kinds of clubs available here students get to learn more . Specially car teams for mechanical students makes us gain lot of experience.
The infrastructure of our college is amongst the best in this country...Our labs have amazing computers equipped with all the necessary softwares which enabled us to perform any task regarding for our syllabus and the internet speed is TOP NOTCH.
I am studying B.Tech CSE because I am a tech bug and I love technology and the quality of teaching is good at our college. All the faculties are good and helps student to develope our knowledge and learn new skills.
As of now i am in the 1st year but as I have heard from many students around the campus and seniors the placements are fantastic and the placement percent is also high as compared to most of the colleges.
The college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and the equipments required for my engineering. Our classrooms are well equipped with smart boards and projectors. Our labs are all centralised air conditioned along with unlimited wifi. We have 3 hostels 1 for girls and 2 for boys. We have gyms along with the hostels which are well maintained. Infrastructure wise vit chennai stands tall with no compromises made.
It all depends on the FFCS which really comes in handy. It completely depends on what kind of teacher one wants to choose. Also it depends on how well you can manage your time. Curriculum wise it is the best and we need to do project in most advanced topics. Also we have relative grading so no one can actually slack off. VIT ensures that we are job ready by making us become competitive enough.
The average placement of this college is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90 percent of the students are placed. The highest salary package is 42 lpa from our campus and it went to CSE branch student. I have not been placed yet but our seniors are not generally worried about placements. Around 500 to 600 companies visit our college for placements.
It depends on the category you are studying. I think the course fee could be a little less. They charge us literally for everything and this could not be helped.
The college is best according to me. Only for girls there are restrictions to go out after 7 pm. So yes for boys it is 9 30pm and never is a problem for me. Even the location is not far from chennai international airport which is 15 km away. The hostel is very safe and hygenic. We have 24x7 ambulance service with hospital within 10km reach. We also have sprinklers in case of any fire in hostels and the academic block
It is very good owing to the fact that it alll started only 10 years ago.
It's just okay, classrooms and hostels and very congested. You won't get any personal space. Gardens are nice but those idiot guards won't just let you sit there in peace. Building looks good from outside but is actually very shitty from inside.now judge yourself.
It's shit, I'm no hater but trust me, they will make u do nonsense assignment throughout your semester. And worst, they will place holidays such that exams are straight after it, so you never get to really enjoy. And the exams are just shity easy of extreme hard, and you'll never kno where you'll lose marks.
If you are okay with 3-5 lakh packages, this is a perfect place for you. But if you want to achieve something, if you want gain knowledge, trust me, this isn't the place for you. You will definately have to go for higher studies if you want be well placed. I have lots of friends in 4th year, trust me with this.
Hostel rooms are too expensive, and too shitty to live in. Same goes for mess.
Well if you're the type of person whose parents doesn't give you much freedom. if you are okay with getting locked inside hostel after 9 PM, if you are okay with college not allowing you to go outside, if you are okay living in a strict environment for no reason at all, It should be fine. But if you are anything like me who like to go around and explore and party late nights, trust me, you will hate this place.
There would be a lot of people and reviews telling you right now that that VIT is a great University. Well, it might befor you. If you've never had any freedom in your house, if you're okay working like a donkey 24/7 without any perticular reason, if you're okay with teachers and warden constantly poking in your personal life and telling you what to do, if you really have no real ambitions and just want a 9-6 job paying 30,000 a month, basically if u r already dead inside, u r good to go.
The infrastructure is really good. It's getting even better. They have added 2 buildings in the campus after I joined and I am still a first year. Also, the labs are well maintained and have all the necessary equipment.
I am studying CSE and the teachers are good. They are approachable and we can take any doubts to them. The curriculum is definitely being updated according to the need like the addition of AI, ML, IoT, Cyber security, etc.
There are all kinds of placements from college. Some students get great placements in great companies and others get decent companies too. Most students are placed in some company or the other based on how well they perform overall.
The cost per year for your course depends on your rank and the category in which you receive admission. If you take admission in category 1 then you have great value for money. Although it falls heavy I'm the pocket if your rank isn't that good.
Infrastructure for the campus has been expanded to a great extent with the addition of new labs underway. A new gym along with a food court has been recently developed in the campus with a swimming pool under construction. Vit is equipped with all the required facilities. The hostels are well developed too.
A lot of professors are highly qualified and helpful in the ventures taken up by the students. The curriculum provides all-round knowledge to the students and helps them choose the path they want to follow themselves. Though choosing the courses for ourselves is a benefit provided in VIT, it sometimes restricts students to specialise in one field. In another sense, the curriculum helps students acquire knowledge about a variety of fields.
The college has strict rules, but it is good while working in the company. The college is well-known for its placements. About 90-95% of the students get placements. It depends on the students' overall performance and grabbing opportunities. The average salary package offered is 7 LPA.
Decent sized Campus and has all the facilities required on campus. Students are provided with table tennis option in their hostels, gym is also there. Sports facilities provided are also top notch. 24*7 ambulance facility is also available
VIT follows very high standards when it comes to academics. Many faculties are also involved in high-end research projects. Teachers also help students in various research projects. Hackathons , seminars , fests are conducted regularly.
Vit provides students good placement opportunities and quality of education, it’s known for its placements in core companies. Some opt for higher studies or not sit in campus placements but other than that mostly all students get placed .
College has greenery across the campus with cleanliness and hygiene maintained in hostels. 50GB data per month WiFi is provided to each student. There are 3 academic blocks currently comprising of well-equipped labs, modern library & one new block is under construction solely being developed for labs. In-campus medical center is present.Sports facilities comprises of various grounds and courts for basketball, cricket, football, volleyball.swimming, tennis, badminton with multipurpose athletics ground.
Professors are well trained and experienced having profound knowledge of the subjects. College follows FFCS system in which a student decides which subjects he/she will study with the guidance of the professors. This Fully Flexible Credit System ensures a student completes 160 credits comprising of internships for earning the B.Tech. degree which can be completed even in 6-7 semesters. Additional learning from various online courses is also promoted. Labs give a practical application of theory.
College has centralized placements with VIT,Vellore. Placement scenario of the college is quite well as majority of the students graduate with a job in their hand. Internship is mandatory for every student to get the degree. VIT has its name written in Limca Records for highest number of Dream offer placements.Average CTC was Rs.6 lacs and the highest package was Rs.39 lacs for 14 students by Microsoft in year 2019. Total 690 companies visited offering 6180 job offers and 1926 internship offers.
Fees of the college is a bit on the higher side as it is a private college. Many people consider this college is expensive but with progressive development of infrastructure and services of the college being provided the fees is justified. All the current sports facilities are free of cost to use where anyone can issue different sports item. Also the richness of content of the library with digital infrastructure is provided free of cost.
Campus surroundings is pretty calm and serene with the likes of various food outlets such as Domino's pizza, The Lassi House, etc. Round the year various clubs organize different events and competitions for students. Rules are bit strict for the students especially girls as they have 7 pm in time for hostels compared to 9 pm for boys. College is in the outskirts of the city, away from noise pollution, 45 minutes from airport and all the services available outside college are nearby.
Overall the college is pretty good in academics, placements, extra curricular activities, sports, infrastructure, hygiene, etc. Only thing which bothers a bit is high fees of the college as it is a private one. Various clubs and sports teams have represented the college at national and international level which is extensively supported and students are persuaded to join them through seminars and events. The college surely builds a pupil's personality and motivates them to do better in life.
The infrastructure of the campus is outstanding. Hostels are very hygienic and tidy. The classrooms are better than other universities. The hospital facility is also good. There is each and every thing needed for sports too..
Studies are quite good and well. Each and every professor has their own doctorates in their perspective courses. The laboratories are also good with enough equipments needed for students. Overall the academics are good.
So far still I'm in second year I don't know much about placements. According to seniors we which we usually talk about it with them, there is no problem regarding placements, once u complete your graduation you will placed successfully in any of the good companies.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
Hi,
With a VITEEE rank of 66,560, getting Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering at VIT Vellore is difficult, as these branches usually close at much lower ranks. You might still have a slim chance at VIT Chennai , depending on seat availability and category.
If you're flexible, you can also explore these branches at VIT Bhopal or VIT-AP , where cutoff ranks are usually higher.
Hope this helps!
