The college is really good if you are considering to join.

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

Yes my college has all the necessary infrastructure required by all the students and faculties like classrooms, auditoriums, lecture halls, staff rooms, cafeterias, sports fields and medical hospital. The class rooms are well maintained and equipped with projectors for better understanding and visualising of concepts. The living spaces are spacious and clean and hygienic and well maintained.

    Academics

I am currently pursuing my degree in Computer Science and Engineering because i have a passion towards technology and software development. The quality of teaching is not that good as all the faculties just finish their syllabus in a hurry and don't explain the concepts much thoroughly. But they clear doubts and also give reference books and suggestions to improve the concepts learned.I think that the curriculum is well updated and includes all recent trends and makes me job ready.

    Placements

The placement statistics in our college has been well up to the mark. The placements have substantially increased even though we are in a pandemic situation and more companies have recruited students and offered good packages.Almost all of the students were placed and the highest package offered was 44 LPA by Microsoft to the CSE Department. The average salary is from 8-10 LPA. The placements process was very easy as we are trained significantly for this and our college is very supportive.

    Value for Money

My course costs nearly 3 lacs per annum.I feel that that the money is worth spent. The educational facilities are very good and also extra curricular facilities are also up to the par.The hostel facilities are also really good.

    Campus Life

The college campus has everything required by the students as well as the faculties. It has sports fields, auditoriums, academic buildings, cafeterias and a multi cuisine canteen serving all dishes off all varieties. It also has a shopping mart from where everyday items can be bought like pens, notebooks, snacks, soaps etc.It has green fields and and and sitting areas where students can sit and relax and enjoy themselves.Everyone here is friendly and helpful. The location is very safe.

It has got some good bunch of young teachers and set of experience teachers . Teachers sre very attractive and ready to help anytime . Yes curriculum is updated after every semester but as a student we feel pressure for exams .

Placement was one m aspects which every vitians keep in their mind. For Last 5 yrs my college has got tremendous placement ranging from 10 lakhs per annum to fourty two lakhs per annum which we called as super dream offer.

    College Infrastructure

The college is infrastructure is really good. It's new and looks beautiful. The Library is too good and labs are new and we'll equipped. The hostel has good wifi with upto 50 GB free usage. Food is decent and it's green and clean campus.

    Academics

Academics is good. The fact is it sometimes becomes over burden for the student to cope up with. There are lots of assignments quizzes and internal exams which really makes difficult to develop new skill sets. Faculties are good and help when have doubt.

    Placements

Placements is something good in VIT with average package of 8.5 Lacs per annum for CSE students and 5-7 LPA for other branches. VIT has a specialized department called PAT Cell which helps you in the placement drive.

    Value for Money

It totally depends upon the category you get in. It's good if you get upto category 3 for CSE else it might be waste as you won't get return on investment. My course fee per year is 4 lakhs. I won't say completely worth it but good since other private colleges too offer this much.

    Campus Life

Campus Life is a tough task in VIT. It's full of restrictions. Every single thing you do you need permission. In-time of 6 pm is what nobody likes since theory classes goes upto 5:30-5:45. College is too strict with its rules.

    College Infrastructure

yes , my college has got all the necessary and ample infrastructure that helps an individual to overcome all his career. The labs and hostels are newly constructed and well equipped . It is a green campus.

    Academics

It has got some good group of teachers that are filled good potential that helps an individual to complete their ambitions .Moreover they are very responsible and attractive in nature . Faculties are supportive.

    Placements

More than 300 companies visited our campus for last 5 years and we broke placement record .Average package is around 8-10 lakh per annum and highest package is 40 lakhs per annum that we called it as super dream package.

    Value for Money

As a student while studying you don't have to think about it. Because after all your labours matters. Moreover you will get to know about your academic fee on basis of your viteee rank. So once you will grab your opportunity it's worth for money.

    Campus Life

Campus life is very different from the image we have created in our minds, but it's decent and pretty disciplined so your parents don't need to worry.

    College Infrastructure

Yes my college has all the necessary infrastructure and facilities which are state of the art. Considerably our campus is newly developed and thus all the admin buildings and classrooms our well constructed and maintained. All the laboratories are new and maintained properly.

    Academics

I am currently my bachelor degree in Computer Science Engineering. The quality of teaching is quite good but not that great as all the faculties simply read the Ppt's but also clear doubts and concepts when one has a problem.I think Curriculum is well updated according to the recent trends in my field of study and i think the curriculum makes my job-ready with providing all the required technical skills and soft skills.

    Placements

The placements have been really appreciable by considering the fact that we are in a pandemic situation. In my college approximately all the students have been placed in good companies with good pay package. The highest salary offered was 44 lpa by Microsoft to the CSE department. The average salary offered was 8-10 lpa.The placement process was easy and comfortable and the PAT CELL in our college really helped us in our placement process.

    Value for Money

My course costs nearly 2 lacs per annum excluding hostel fees.I feel that its worth the money spent but not quite to the optimum. Our college encourages category system which is roughly that you can get any course of your choice by paying extra money which is not at all a healthy approach as it reduces the transperancy and the merit based criteria of the college.

    Campus Life

The college campus is quite vivid with cafeterias and shopping marts where students can buy all required necessary items. We also have a canteen which is multi cuisine and a well developed gymnasium with all modern equipment. Students can engage in numerous activities ranging from sports, dance to various competitions like hackathons and project expo.

Yes, the college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments .The labs and classes are newly constructed. VIT is know for its green campus and it is well maintained and is hygienic.

    Academics

I am currently pursuing computer science and engineering from this college, the academics focuses more on the core subjects, they take a lot of assignments and exams, faculties help in clearing doubts and well versed in their subject.

    Placements

Placement is quite decent in VIT. The average package is 6-7 lakh per annum and for cse it is about 8-9 lakhs per annum which is quite good, the highest package offered is around 44 lakh per annum by microsoft.

    Value for Money

It depends on the category you take admission in. I think the first two categories are justified but if you have money you can opt for the course you want.

    College Infrastructure

Since our college is relatively new, the college administration is trying its best to provide the maximum facilities they can provide while maintaining the student's welfare. The classrooms and labs are new and maintained.

    Academics

I'm studying B-Tech Computer Science and Engineering because I have an interest in this field. Most of the faculties are PhD holders and have knowledge of their respective subjects. The faculties also help the student with doubt-clearing sessions.

    Placements

Placement in VIT is decent, providing an average package of 8lacs per annum with a maximum package going up to 40-44lacs per annum. The college provides the on-campus placement to most of the student who sits in the campus placement program(MME).

    Value for Money

VIT provides its students with a category system, which is based on the rank you achieved in the entrance examination of VIT(VITEEE) ranging from category 1 to 5. Since I was a part of category 1, my fees was 2lacs per annum so I consider it as well worth my money.

    Campus Life

There are too many rules and regulations applied to the student body. The campus in time is very early as the students cannot do much after the classes are over(after class and in time is only 25 mins). But since our campus is relatively new, they are providing the best facilities they can to the students regarding their wellbeing, for example, new hostels, new laboratory, and new hangout spots.

Have a question related to VIT Chennai ?

whether a BE in chemical engineering from thapar fetch better placement than a Be in IT/CSE from VIT Chennai

    Dear aspirant,

Well, for placements, a B.Tech in IT/CSE from VIT Chennai is often considered a better option for placements than a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Thapar. While Thapar has a good reputation, VIT Chennai's strong placement record in IT/CSE, especially with higher packages, often makes it a more better choice for students pursuing these fields.

    Thank you.

VIT chennai electronics engineering vlsi vs SRM kattankulathur electronics engineering vlsi. Which is best in terms of placements and core companies visiting

    Hello,

Between VIT Chennai and SRM Kattankulathur for Electronics Engineering with VLSI specialisation, VIT Chennai is generally better in terms of:

    • Placements: VIT has a slightly better placement record, especially for core electronics and VLSI roles.

    • Core companies: More core and semiconductor companies like Intel, NXP, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments tend to visit VIT (mostly Vellore, but some do come to Chennai as well).

    • Reputation: VIT has better industry recognition and alumni network in the core field.

So, if you are focused on VLSI and core job roles, VIT Chennai is a better option than SRM Kattankulathur .

    Hope it helps !

My rank is 54067 can i get ECE or EEE in vit Chennai category 3

With a VITEEE 2025 rank of 54,067, your prospects for securing ECE (Electronics & Communication Engineering) or EEE (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) at VIT Chennai under Category 3 fall into the “possible but not guaranteed” range. Statistically, EEE tends to have a slightly higher cutoff than ECE, so your chances there are marginally better. Securing ECE is more competitive, and would likely require the cutoff to shift higher than in previous years.

Should Category 3 not be available to you, Categories 4 and 5 remain options, though these will involve a significantly higher fee structure.

    Recommended steps:

    - Actively participate in Phase 2 counselling. Early engagement can make a difference.

    - Prioritize ECE as your first choice, with EEE as a backup, and submit your Chennai campus preferences promptly.

Please bear in mind that Category 3 fees are substantially higher than those for Categories 1 or 2. Seat allocation also varies annually, based on applicant numbers, their preferences, and dropout rates.

For more precise, data-driven guidance, you might consider using the VITEEE College Predictor offered by Careers360. If you require assistance comparing ECE and EEE or evaluating campuses, further guidance is available. https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/viteee-college-predictor
