The department offers a two-year M.Sc. program which involves pursuing a one-year research project in addition to usual coursework. The program allows you to choose from a variety of elective courses together with the compulsory ones. Performance of students each semester is continuously assessed through regular quizzes, class tests, and mid- and end-semester examinations. Depending on the area of Physics that interests you most, you can choose your supervisor for your research project.


Eligibility Criteria

A candidate who has passed Bachelor degree of 3 years duration (B.Sc. or equivalent) under 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university.

College Infrastructure

The classrooms and labs are well furnished, with centralized ACs, projectors. All the equipment are kept ready in laboratories. Also Wi-Fi facilities are provided in every department of institute. A central library is present in the institute having a lot of books from different fields. Also there is a 24 hours pen reading hall, so that one can study anytime. The department and new hostels made are much good, but the holder senior hostels are not in good condition.

Hostels here great to live in. The hostel experience is really memorable for any student. All hostels have 24?7 Wi-Fi access and connectivity. Hostel mess food is also far then that of the other college. Also, the hostels are quite safe and secure from the perspective of a girl students.

The hostels are world-class. The students get a shared room (double occupancy) in their first to third year, and they get a single room in their last semester. The mess food is really good and gives a balanced diet. Hostels are allotted at the beginning of a session by Hall managers. IIT Bombay is situated in Powai.
