I would suggest you to go for BIT, Mesra rather than going for B.I.T Sindri...B.I.T Mesra is far better than B.I.T. Sindri.

Moreover, if we look between Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering, both are of great scope if you have interest in it. Please choose the one you have keen interest in. Only then you will succeed. Both the Engineering degrees will offer you great exposure. Scope of Mechanical Engineering includes opportunities in aerospace, automobile, chemical manufacturing plants, oil exploration, railway coach factory, research, and development. While, the scope of Civil Engineering lies in developing, designing, planning, calculating, monitoring construction as well as executing and managing the construction of buildings, roads and physical structures like bridges, dams, etc. and their maintenance.

See Mechanical Engineering is one of the most crucial fields but from a job and salary perspective, Mechanical Engineers don't get paid that good as compared to that of the other branches such as CSE IT or ECE. Also CSE and IT have more companies for recruitment and the pay is relatively better. As result, more student are leaning towards CSE IT and ECE. Also there are lag in jobs in the core sector for ME as a result it better to go for a field which will have a core job and CSE IT ECE are those fields. So if you wish to take then its recommended to go for CSE IT or ECE.

Hello Aspirant! BIT Sindri is a government college in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Only qualifying JEE Main won't give you the key for getting admission at BIT Sindri. You must have a Residential of Jharkhand to prove that you're from Jharkhand as only students who are from Jharkhand are eligible for admission at BIT Sindri. No other states are eligible for admission in this college. You must be from Jharkhand and have a residential and you also need to qualify the cutoff marks of the same.

You may participate in the counselling process with all your certificates and documents ready. If not allotted a branch in the first 3 rounds of counselling then you may even participate in the special round counselling in which you may get a lower branch like Mining or Civil.

If you're general, then No, you can't get admission in BIT Sindri. You have to have above 85 percentile to be on the safe side. But you may try in the spot round counselling in which you can get a lower branch like Mining or Production.
