Hi Sumit,

There are multiple engineering colleges in Pune with good placements but the top most college would be COEP which offers very good packages and placements to it's students. The total fees payable for 1st year is around INR 142,240 as per their official fee structure which also includes one time security deposit. You can have detailed look at it by visiting their link: Revised_UG-Fees-Structure-AY_-2024-25.pdf (https://www.coeptech.ac.in/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Revised_UG-Fees-Structure-AY_-2024-25.pdf)

With 25 percentile in MHT-CET , your score is quite low.

  • Percentile 25 approx. Raw score: 30-40 marks out of 200

  • Approximate rank : 80,000 - 100,000+

  • At this percentile, top-tier colleges (like COEP, VJTI, PICT, SPIT, etc.) are out of reach .

You can aim for low to mid-tier private colleges , especially in rural or semi-urban areas , such as:

College Name Location Remarks
Vidyalankar Institute of Technology (VIT) Mumbai Low demand branches like Mech/Civil only possible
Sanjivani College of Engineering Kopargaon Decent infra, low cutoff
MIT School of Engineering Pune/Loni Kalbhor May get low-demand branches
Sinhgad Institute (various branches) Pune One of the most likely options
JSPM Group of Colleges Pune Moderate placements
Zeal College of Engineering Pune Likely to get low-demand branches
Bharati Vidyapeeth COE Kolhapur / Navi Mumbai Management quota may hel-

hi,

Yes, with 108 marks in HSC PCM and 55% in MHT CET, and since you are from the SC category, you can get admission in an engineering college. You may not get top colleges or high-demand branches like CSE or IT, but you can get seats in private colleges or in branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical. You should fill all possible choices in counselling and try in all CAP rounds

you can check this

If you have scored eighty eight percentile in the MHT CET exam and you are looking for admission in the BTech Computer Science branch then you have a good chance of getting a seat in some reputed engineering colleges in Maharashtra Although you may not get the top government colleges like COEP Pune or VJTI Mumbai in the first round you still have chances in other good colleges like PICT Pune MIT WPU Pune and PCCOE Pune Some other colleges like DY Patil College of Engineering Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology and Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology also offer good placements and faculty for computer science The availability of seats will also depend on your category home university region and the choice of college preferences during counselling You are advised to take part in the centralised admission process conducted by the state government and fill in as many options as possible in the choice filling round to improve your chances of getting admission in a good college

Hi dear candidate,

With the score of 72% in MHT CET your rank should fall between 30,000 to 40,000. Considering this, it is slightly tough for you to get admission in top tier government colleges like COEP Pune etc. You should try in autonomous colleges more like JNEC Aurangabad etc.

Hi Yash,

You have secured a good ranking in your IPU exam. The notable top BBA colleges in IPU are VIPS (Pitampura), MAIMS (Rohini), MSIT (Janakpuri) and JIMS (Vasant Kunj).

Based on the previous year cut off for BBA which was around 2900 for 1st round, I believe you will most likely get admission in either VIPS or MSIT, so keep any of them on top as they are the best also the campus life is notably better.

If by any chance you do not get admission in either VIPS or MSIT put MAIMS the next one. You may also try your luck with GGSIPU main campus in Dwarka but the cut off for it is much lower so keep that in mind.

Your preference should be:

  1. VIPS
  2. MSIT
  3. MAIMS
  4. JIMS

Hello Kiran,

At 50 percentile in MHT CET, chances of getting top government colleges for ENTC branch are very low. But you can still get some decent private or low-ranked government colleges.

Some colleges you can try are:

  • GH Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur

  • D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Pune

  • MIT WPU, Pune

  • Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai

  • Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai

  • Shivaji University COE, Kolhapur

You should take part in the CAP rounds and fill as many choices as possible. You may get a better college in later rounds.

Hope it helps !

With a CET rank of 8500 and 83% in boards, you can get a seat in good private colleges like Rajalakshmi, Sairam, Velammal, Sathyabama, Hindustan, and some government colleges like UCE Kanchipuram or CIT Coimbatore (non-CSE branches).

Top-tier colleges like CEG or SSN may not be possible.

Summary for 64.72 percentile in General Category:

  • Computer Science or IT not possible in Pune colleges
  • Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches possible in mid-tier Pune colleges such as JSCOE, MES, and SITS

Counseling advice: Focus on practical branch choices, include a range of options, and track each counseling round carefully.
