Hello,

For core branches (like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc.), VSSUT Burla is a better choice than OUTR (CET) Bhubaneswar.

Here’s why:

  • Strong core departments : VSSUT has a long history and strong reputation in core engineering.

  • Better GATE environment : Many students from VSSUT prepare for GATE, so you will get a good peer group and study environment.

  • Good faculty and alumni : Especially in core branches, VSSUT has better faculty support and alumni network in PSU and higher studies.

So, if your focus is on core branches and GATE preparation, VSSUT Burla is the better option.

Hope it helps !

Hello

In CSSUT Burla, Electrical Engineering (EE) has much more scope & job opportunites than Electronics and Telecommunication (ETC).

But it should be purely on your interest. If you have more interest in EE, then go for EE. If more in ETC, go for ETC. But statistic wise, EE is better.

Dear Aspirant,

With a CRL rank of 5 lakh and an SC category rank of 44,975, your chances of securing admission in Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Odisha are limited, especially in highly sought-after branches like Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Telecommunication (ETC), or Mechanical Engineering. However, you may still have a possibility of getting admission in less competitive branches such as Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Production Engineering, or possibly Civil and Electrical Engineering in the later or spot rounds, depending on the seat vacancy and cutoff trends. Since VSSUT takes admissions through OJEE counselling based on JEE Main ranks, the cutoffs for SC category are relatively relaxed, but due to limited seat availability, competition remains. It is advisable to participate in all the counselling rounds, including the spot round, where cutoffs tend to drop further. Additionally, you should keep backup options open by applying to other government or private engineering colleges in Odisha or nearby states where your SC category rank may provide better opportunities for admission.

So according to your percentage that is 56% in 12 class and 90 percentage in JEE MAINS 2025 you do have  chances of getting admission into IGIT Sarang college. You can go for  branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil. While other branches with higher cutt offs are very difficult for you.

In VSSUT Burla  it is difficult for you to get admission because it's the top college and competition is very high here but still you can try in later rounds. Make sure to check the college couselling portal daily.

Hello aspirant,
With an SC position that is essentially 11, you are in an excellent position for MCA admission through OJEE. For VSSUT Burla, closing ranks in 2024 for general category were around 120 and under 200—for SC, likely even higher priority and thus more accessible. So your rank of 11 is more than enough to secure a seat there. For OUAT Bhubaneswar, the closing rank for general MCA was about 1000, so you’re also comfortably eligible for admission.

In short, with your rank, you should have no issues getting an MCA seat at both VSSUT Burla and OUAT Bhubaneswar under the state quota. Ensure you complete your OJEE counselling registration, list both institutes as priorities, and participate actively in the choice-filling rounds.

HELLO,

Yes , with an overall OJEE rank of 158 and a branch (CSE) rank of 48 you are in a strong position for admission into reputable M.TECH Computer Science programs Via OJEE.

M.TECH via OJEE:- For M.tech CSE seats Filled through OJEE the general category rank is around -1500 with opening ranks around 130 And your overall rank 158 is well within that range.

You can explore Top engineering colleges in INDIA- https://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-engineering-colleges-in-india?page=6&sort_by=4

VSSUT Burla - Fills most M.TECH seats primarily via GATE but there are some non GATE vacancies allocated during OJEE counselling.

You can check previous year cutoffs for getting idea for admissions but your rank will be within or above the cutoff range .

Other Top colleges With OJEE Rank you can explore https://engineering.careers360.com/download/ebooks/top-50-btech-colleges-in-odisha

Your rank will considered good for securing admission in other top colleges also for CSE program that considers OJEE rank .

Hope that Helps!

Asmita, based on your 89k rank in the  EWS category, I can tell you that you have a good chance of getting a seat in VSSUT.

After analyzing the cutoff ranks and eligibility criteria, I can confirm that you will get a seat in VSSUT. However, the branch allocation might be a challenge.

You might not get Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) due to the high demand and relatively low cutoff rank for this branch. However, you can expect to get a seat in one of the following branches:

- Electrical Engineering

- Mechanical Engineering

- Civil Engineering

- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

- Information Technology

Keep in mind that the final branch allocation will depend on the institute's policies and the number of applicants. But overall, you can be assured that you will get a seat in VSSUT. Congratulations, Asmita!

Hello there,

With a CRL rank of 2,08,000, OBC category rank of 71,000, and both Home State and Green Card quotas, your chances of getting EE, EEE, or ETC at VSSUT Burla are low but not entirely impossible.

In previous years, closing ranks for these branches under Home State quota have usually been below 1,35,000 in CRL. Your CRL rank is higher than this, so direct admission in the first few rounds is unlikely.

However, since you have Green Card and OBC reservation under the Odisha state quota, you may have a chance in later rounds or spot rounds, depending on seat vacancies and cut-off movement.

You should still apply and participate in all counseling rounds. Be prepared with documents and consider backup options in other state engineering colleges too.

Admission is uncertain for EE/EEE/ETC, but you can still try, especially in the final or spot rounds.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

Hello there,

With a CRL rank of around 2,00,000 and OBC category rank of 71,000, getting admission to VSSUT Burla in the ETC (Electronics & Telecommunication) branch is unlikely. This college is highly competitive, and the cutoff ranks for ETC branch usually fall much lower than 2,00,000 in general or category ranks.

Having home state quota and green card quota may improve your chances slightly, but the rank is still quite high compared to typical cutoff trends for ETC branch at VSSUT Burla.

You may want to consider other colleges or branches with lower cutoff ranks or look for private institutions that have seats available at your rank range.

It is best to wait for the official counseling cutoff lists to confirm seat availability.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
