With 69 percentile in MHT CET 2024 (PCM) and VJNT category , you have a fair chance to get Mechanical Engineering in low to mid-tier government or private engineering colleges in Maharashtra. MHT CET 69 percentile means your approximate rank is around 44,000 to 47,000 (varies slightly each year). VJNT (Vimukta Jati - Nomadic Tribes) is a reserved category with lower cutoffs than open/general. You’ll get a category rank (much better than your general rank), giving you access to seats under the VJNT quota in CAP rounds.

You can get these Colleges

  • Government College of Engineering, Chandrapur / Jalgaon / Amravati (in later rounds)

  • GH Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur/Pune

  • Sinhgad Institutes, Pune

  • JSPM Group Colleges (Wagholi, Hadapsar)

  • Shree Ramchandra College of Engineering, Pune

  • Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering & Research

Hello,

Achieving a score of 63.68% in the MH CET exam and being part of the OBC category gives you a reasonable opportunity for admission into a reputable private or semi-government engineering college in Maharashtra; however, prestigious institutes such as COEP (College of Engineering Pune) or VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) may be difficult to access due to their elevated cut-offs. Nonetheless, institutions like DY Patil College of Engineering (Akurdi), Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (Pune), PCCOE (Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering), and Walchand Institute of Technology (Sangli) present more practical choices where your score could be taken into account for disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or even IT or CSE during some later rounds of counselling. Actively engage in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) rounds and select a diverse array of preferences from colleges with higher to lower cut-off scores to enhance your opportunities. Monitor cut-off trends from past years and maintain regular updates from the DTE Maharashtra portal for precise and prompt information throughout the counselling process.

Hope this helps. All the best!

1.DY Patil college of Engineering

2.Matoshiri College of Engineering and Research center

3.Sinhgad College of Engineering

4.MGM college of Engineering and Tech

5.Bharati Vidyapeeth college of Engineering

Hope that Helps!

Since you've completed your B.Sc. in Computer Science and scored 95.55 percentile in MAH MCA CET, you’re in a very good position for admission into top MCA colleges in Pune. Based on your percentile and interest in placements, your primary focus should be on colleges with consistently strong academic records and good industry connections.

PICT (Pune Institute of Computer Technology) is one of the most preferred choices for MCA in Pune. It has a strong reputation, good coding culture, and solid placement records. Students here usually get placed in companies like TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, and even some product-based firms. With your percentile, you stand a strong chance of getting in during the early CAP rounds.

VIT Pune (Vishwakarma Institute of Technology) is also a very good option. It offers strong infrastructure, active placement cells, and a decent number of recruiters, especially from IT services and consulting companies. The environment is student-friendly and placement training support is strong.

You should also definitely consider the Department of Computer Science at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). It’s a central university department, so the academic reputation is excellent. The placements here are good, and the course is more research and theory oriented, which can also help if you plan to pursue higher studies or R&D roles.

Sinhgad Institutes and MIT-WPU are also good backups. Sinhgad has a decent placement track record, though not at the same level as PICT or VIT. MIT-WPU offers modern curriculum and decent placements, but fee-wise it's on the higher side compared to others.

With 95.55 percentile, you’re well-positioned to target PICT, VIT Pune, and SPPU in your first round of preferences. Just make sure to carefully fill your option form during CAP counselling and keep track of all rounds to increase your chances.

All the best!

With 50 percentile in the MHT-CET exam, your approximate rank would fall around 60,000 to 70,000 or lower, depending on the overall exam statistics for the year. Admission to top government engineering colleges in Maharashtra for Computer Science Engineering is unlikely at this score, especially under the general category. These colleges usually close their CSE seats at much higher percentiles and lower ranks. However, you still have a chance in private or self-financed colleges, particularly those located in Pune, Navi Mumbai, or rural districts, where cutoffs tend to be more flexible.

Some of these colleges may offer you admission during the later CAP rounds or under the institute-level or management quota. Your chances increase if you're open to choosing a CSE-related specialization like AI-ML, Data Science, or IT instead of core CSE, since those sometimes have slightly lower cutoffs.

You should also participate in all rounds of centralized admission, including spot rounds, and consider filling the option forms very carefully with a large number of choices in descending order of preference.

If you are from a reserved category or home university region, your chances may improve significantly.

Hope this helps!

Dear Candidate,
With your given percentile , your chance of  getting top branches like  Computer  Engineering  , IT , AI/ML , or ECE at VIT Pune are quite low , as these usually  close  at 97 - 99 percentile  or higher . However , you do have chance of getting  into branches like Mechanical Engineering or possibly Instrumentation and Chemical Engineering, which typically have lower cutoffs around 92 - 95 percentile .

MHT-CET cut-offs range from 99 plus percentile for top colleges like COEP, VJTI, to 75 to 90 percentile for mid-range colleges like SFIT, Thakur, and Pillai. Always check the latest round-wise cut-offs during counselling.

Hi, if you’ve completed your 12th and scored 43 percentile in MHT CET 2025, it might feel a bit difficult to get into top government engineering colleges for branches like Computer Science, IT, or Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. These branches are highly competitive, and their cutoffs are usually much higher, especially in popular government or autonomous colleges.

However, there are still opportunities available. Many private engineering colleges and unaided institutes in Maharashtra accept students with lower percentiles, especially in the later rounds of counselling like CAP Round 3 or the institutional-level rounds. These rounds often have vacant seats, and the cutoff tends to go down, which increases your chances of getting a seat in CS or related branches.

You can also consider applying to colleges in cities like Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, or the outskirts of Mumbai, where private colleges offer BTech or BE programs in CS, IT, AI, and related fields. Some colleges may even offer management quota or direct admission after the CAP rounds are over, although the fee structure might be different.

Make sure to stay active during the counselling process and apply to multiple colleges. Explore all the options available to you and don’t miss any deadlines. Even if you don’t get CS directly, branches like Information Technology or Data Science are also great choices and often cover similar topics.

With the right strategy and persistence, you can still get into a good college and start your journey in the tech field.

All the best!

If MAH CET MBA exam is over for this year, you cannot apply for MBA through CET now. There is no November attempt. You can either:

1. Apply for MBA this year through other entrance exams like MAT, CMAT, or direct admission (if available),

or

2. Wait and apply for MAH CET next year.

Most government MBA colleges require CET or equivalent exam score.
