DACG Government Polytechnic, Chikmagalur Admission Process

DACG Government Polytechnic-not to be confused with DAFG-is one of the most sought polytechnics in Karnataka, India, originally. The admission processes followed are for giving worthy candidates the chance to pursue various electrifying engineering diploma programs at DACG Government Polytechnic. DACG Government Polytechnic admission procedure : Application particulars inform students who are interested in joining the institution.  DACG Government Polytechnic admission requirements stipulate that the applicants must be qualified in terms of having passed the qualifying examination equivalent to the 10th standard / regular examination from a recognized board. 

They follow the eligibility norms regarding admissions set by the Karnataka state government for polytechnic entrance. Even if there are no particular mentions of entrance tests, it is assumed that under normal circumstances, they are admitted based on their score in the qualifying examination itself along with state-level entrance tests for polytechnic admissions in Karnataka.

Application Process

1. Notification: The institution advertises details on this admission cycle through print/audio-visual media and its own website.

2. Application Form: Folded out into the application process are candidates filling out the application form that has been made available either on the institution website or through the state polytechnic admission portal.

3. Document Submission: Documents should be submitted by candidates with their application form, namely:

  • Copy of 10th standard or equivalent mark statement
  • Proof of date of birth
  • Caste certificate (if needed)
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other document as specified by the institute/state admission authority

4. Application Fee: An application fee is charged as non-refundable to the candidates. Details about the amount and mode of payment shall be available on the advertisement.

5. Merit List: On the basis of performance and other criteria of the candidates, merit lists are prepared and declared either by the institute or the state admission authority.

6. Counselling and Seat Allotment: Counselling will be arranged for shortlisted candidates, who shall subsequently be asked to select their course of choice based on their preference, rank, and availability of seats.

7. Confirmation of Admission: Candidates confirm the admission with the payment of admission fees against the original documents submitted for verification, after seat allotment.

8. Orientation: The orientation session should be attended by all selected students before the classes commence.

Degree wise Admission Process

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: The intake of candidates for this programme is 60 and it provides a wide exposure in the training of principles and applications of mechanical engineering. Admissions depend on the merit of the candidate's academic performance under the guidelines of the state for admissions.

Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering: This subject admits 60 students into the program mainly dealing with the field of studies on electronic systems and communication technologies. Admissions will be granted on merit according to the prescribed guidelines.

Diploma in Electric and Electronics Engineering: The same criteria apply for another diploma course to which 60 candidates will be enrolled in studying electrical and electronic engineering. The admission follows the standard state-advised polytechnic admission guidelines.

Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering: This course is offered for 60 candidates who will be trained to satisfy the need for individuals specialized in computer science and expects applicants to have excellent academic performance and adherence to guidelines on admission to the institute.

Civil Engineering Diploma Course: 60 candidates will be admitted to this program and trained in civil engineering practices. The admission process is similar to that of the other diploma programs in the college.

Diploma in Automobile Engineering: This specialized program admits 50 candidates concentrating on automotive engineering. The admission is based on merit and adherence to the admission criteria of the institute.
