The academic environment at RNSIT is structured and rigorous, with a focus on both theoretical foundations and practical applications. The curriculum is well designed and regularly updated to match industry standards and current trends in civil engineering. Experienced faculty: The civil engineering department boasts a team of qualified faculty with PhDs in various sub-disciplines of civil engineering.
The placement statistics for civil engineering at RNSIT indicate a steady trend in job offers for civil engineering. Spatially, I got the internship opportunity at IISc Bangalore in the 5th semester, and the department is helping me to do the internship without affecting my academic commitment. In the 3rd year of our engineering program, a handful of my classmates are also participating in the internship.
Our Department is providing the payed internship for 3rd and 4th year students. while coming to the placements, most my senior batch (final year) students are placed in some construction company, and openings are there.
The campus life of RNSIT is vibrant, diverse, and filled with opportunities for personal growth beyond the academics.
College infrastructure plays a vital role in shaping the overall learning experience of students. A well-developed campus with modern facilities provides the right environment for both academic and personal growth. The quality of classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and lecture halls directly affects the effectiveness of teaching and learning. Spacious, well-ventilated classrooms and advanced labs equipped with the latest technology make learning more practical and engaging.
Academics form the backbone of any educational institution and play a crucial role in shaping the future of students. A strong academic system ensures that learners gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills needed to succeed in their chosen careers. Well-structured courses, qualified faculty, and updated curricula are essential for maintaining high academic standards. When students are exposed to innovative teaching methods, such as interactive lectures, group discussions, and project-based learning, they develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Placements are one of the most important aspects of a college, as they serve as a bridge between academic learning and professional careers. A strong placement record reflects the institution’s ability to prepare students for the job market. The placement cell or career development center plays a key role by training students in essential skills such as communication, aptitude, problem-solving, and interview preparation. Regular workshops, mock interviews, and personality development sessions help students gain confidence and perform well during recruitment drives.
Value for money is an important concept that reflects the balance between cost and quality. It does not simply mean choosing the cheapest option, but rather making sure that the money spent gives worthwhile benefits. For example, when buying a product or service, customers often look at its durability, usefulness, and overall satisfaction compared to its price. A slightly expensive item may still provide better value for money if it lasts longer or performs better than a cheaper alternative.
Campus life is a blend of learning, friendships, and experiences beyond the classroom. It offers opportunities to grow academically, explore new interests, and participate in cultural and sports activities. Hostels, libraries, and hangout spots make it lively, while events and clubs add to the fun. Overall, it’s a balance of studies, enjoyment, and self-development.
The campus offers spacious, well-ventilated classrooms equipped with projectors and smart boards. The labs are modern, with up-to-date equipment. Library has a good collection and digital resources. Sports facilities are decent with a basketball court, indoor games room, and a gym. Hostel accommodation is clean, with reliable WiFi, hygienic mess food, and well-maintained common areas. Some areas like washrooms and gardens need more upkeep, but overall infrastructure supports learning and student life well.
RNS College offers a well-structured academic programme with a mix of theory and practical sessions. The faculty is knowledgeable, approachable, and committed to student progress. Labs and workshops enhance hands-on learning. Regular assessments help track performance. Curriculum is updated with industry-relevant topics, though elective choices could be broader. The pace of instruction is manageable, and additional support via tutorials or doubt-clearing sessions is often available. Overall, the academic environment is motivating and prepares students well for professional goals.
The placement scenario at RNSIT is generally strong, especially for CSE, ISE and related branches. The placement cell is quite active, organizing drives from reputed companies and arranging training, mock interviews and resume building well ahead of final year. Highest packages in recent years have crossed ₹50-60 LPA, while the average packages hover around ₹5-7 LPA depending on the branch. On the flip side, non-CS branches like ECE, Mechanical, Civil don’t always get as many high-tier offers; for those branches, placement rates and offers tend to be modest. Also, eligibility criteria (academics / no backlogs) and competition can be strict. Overall, if you're in a computing or IT-adjacent branch, you stand a good chance of securing a decent placement; if not, expectations should be tempered, but support from the institute is appreciable.
RNSIT offers a reasonably good return on investment. While the fees are on the higher side (for example, tuition + extras such as hostel can push costs up significantly) , what students get in exchange is decent: strong placement opportunities, good infrastructure, multiple labs and workshops, modern IT facilities, and co-curricular support. Some negatives: Students in non-CS branches sometimes feel the payoff isn’t as high compared to CS/ISE branches due to fewer high paying job offers. Also, costs like hostel, mess, extracurriculars add up, and for some students the fees feel steep relative to what they perceive in terms of “extras.” Overall, if you are in a high-demand branch or actively use the placement/training resources, RNSIT is worth the money. For others, expectations should be realistic.
The campus life at RNSIT is vibrant, engaging, and fairly well-balanced between studies and fun. Students actively participate in an array of cultural, sports, technical, and social activities which help in overall personality development. There are several clubs: music (Dhwani), dance (Synapse), fashion (Aura), literature, acting, etc. Major annual fests include Pantheon, department fests, sports tournaments, and many special events like flash mobs, marathons, Kannada Rajyotsava, and others. Hostel life is offered, with multiple hostels (two for boys, one for girls); rooms are shared (4-sharing in many cases), mess is managed by Sodexo, and food is reported hygienic. The campus is green, clean, spacious and well-maintained; classrooms, common areas, canteen, library etc., provide comfortable environments.

The college has all the necessary infrastructure and is maintained well. The new library constructed is very spacious and ensures a productive study time for all. It is also equipped with all the major Engineering textbooks. The canteen area is clean and available to students all the time making it convenient for students. The classrooms are well equipped with the necessary facilities along with digital learning availability.
The teachers are well prepared and are always keen on teaching. There is a healthy collaboration between teachers and students in creating innovative ideas and challenges. Continuous assignments and projects give a better understanding over concepts.
The placement cell of the college is very efficient in being the bridge between students and the outer industrial world. Many students have been placed in good companies and are doing well. The placement drives are organized very well.
Can have a memorable 4 years in the campus with ample exposure to cultural and technical fests. Events such as Algorythm and Pantheon fests involving cultural clubs and organizing clubs are the major events that will remain in the memories of students.
The college has great infrastructure and is well maintained. most classrooms have a projector and are use aptly. We have a gym, a library, and well maintained laboratories which we can use for our own projects with permission. Most buildings are Wifi enabled and is fast enough to cater to our needs.
I am studying Electrical and electronics engineering and the quality of teaching is great. The Professors provide us with notes and conduct classes which is more than ample for our examinations and cover everything, required for our career in the future.
The college actively works to facilitate placements, and there have been several positive outcomes over the years. A variety of companies regularly visit the campus, and some branches tend to have particular good placement records. while the placements experience can vary across departments, many students receive decent offers, and the college provides consistent support throughout the process. With dedication and the right approach, students can make the most of what the college has to offer and take meaningful steps towards their professional goals
If you enter via cet, that is paying a sum of 1 lac and then additional fees which come up to 1.5 lacs then i believe it could be.
The campus life is great, it sits in a lush and green setting making it a serene place to spend your time.
The college provides you with multiple opportunities to grow and improve. Though it may impose weird and rather paradoxical restrictions, it helps the student grow and nurtures it. One such opportunity is the advent of two new IEEE student chapters, namely The Power electronics society and the aerospace and electronics society. Making a great addition and opens up to a different world of possibilities .
Infrastructure of the college is not bad ..We have a large canteen and the prices are less of foods.we have amphitheatre to chill ..A event called "Algorithm" happens there all the time .Classes are quite large ..The won bad thing is you will find all building same ..The campus is quite large
I am presently studying in EEE department. My academic is quite good .We come under vtu batch so our curriculum is fixed ..Our junior batch has become autonomous..so Curriculum is very good Hand-on project will help you ..teachers will support you
We have only 60 ppl in our department of EEE .. placement you can expect about 20 people getting placed ..My recommendation is we as students should not completely depend on college ..Good companies like L&T ,TCS come but they expect quality engineering..It is getting improved
If you are have got admission through cet. It is value for money orelse it is not .It cost about 1.30 lack every year Max for cet .If you want to go to hostel 1lach + ..so it is value for ????
It sometimes feels like kids ..but everywhere It is the same so It should change all college ..Good part is very year we have our college fest names "Patheon".Inter college fest is also good and department fests also are allowed.Technicsl fest and non technical activities are also allowed
The establishment of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronics Systems Society (AESS) Student Chapter in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) department at RNSIT marks a significant milestone in the college's journey towards academic and technological excellence.I am chairman of AESS society. This newly formed chapter provides a dedicated platform for students passionate about aerospace, avionics, defense electronics, and advanced systems engineering. It opens up many opportunities
The campus is quite green and well maintained. You will find dedicated blocks for different departments, decent amount of parking space too. It provides comfortable environment for students and provides necessary facilities to support your studies and college life. Classrooms are standard, clean and spacious enough also consists of projectors. Labs are decently equipped. The library is well stocked with updated books and computers are available to access digital resources.
The curriculum is standardized which covers the fundamentals well. The faculty is qualified and are supportive if you show initiative and some are passionate about what they teach and the study materials they provide are helpful. We have three internals per semester, along with projects and quizzes. There are various technical and non technical clubs.
College placement cell puts in efforts to bring in companies for campus recruitments, the average package offered is reasonable and few students who put in more efforts manage to get impressive offers, they conduct training sessions and helps you polish your skills for the actual interview.
RNSIT is definitely a sensible choice and good value for money. It provides decent infrastructure, supportive faculty, good placement opportunities and provides necessary facilities.
It has good number of clubs and student chapters. There are technical ones if you are interested in coding or cultural clubs if you are into dance, music. There are even social clubs focused on community service. Various events are held through out the year such as hackathons, club events, workshops.
Dear Candidate ,
The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program at RNS Institute of Technology ( RNSIT ) , Bangalore offers decent placements , especially in core sectors . While placements for mechanical are not high as for CSE , students still get good opportunities with proper training and support from the placement cell . The average placement record is consistent, and well - know companies do recruit from the campus .
- Highest CTS ( 2024 ) : 6.5 LPA
-Top recruiters : Benz , Bosch , Toyota
-Internship stipends : Up to 25,000/month
-Placement count ( 2023 ) : 149 offers for mechanical branch .
Candidates for Round 1 Karnataka PGCET 2024 for MCA called for fee payment and counselling process is still going on so this is the first round there are more rounds to go thats why cutoff rank is not similar to previous year.
If you want to take chance for pes university and dayanand sagar of engineering you should wait till the further counselling process but remember it is not sure that you will get these colleges as this depends on various factors.

Hi NIkhil,
I hope you're doing well!
Choosing between CSE at RNSIT and CSBS at Nitte Meenakshi really depends on what you're looking for in your studies and career goals. CSE at RNSIT might offer a broader and more traditional computer science curriculum, while CSBS at Nitte Meenakshi could provide a more specialized focus if you're interested in combining computer science with business studies.
If you have specific interests or career goals, that might help guide your decision. Both are good options, so consider what aligns best with your aspirations.
I'd appreciate it if you could rate this reply and let me know if you have any other questions!
