Sree Jagadguru Fakireshwara Government First Grade College, Shirahatti, is a government institution and attained university status in Karnataka. The admission methodology adopted by the college is simple and pro-student, allowing aspiring learners to apply smoothly. Since it is a government institution, the admission calendar is assumed to be run on the academic schedule declared by the affiliate university.

The institution caters to many Undergraduate programs under Commerce, Arts, and Science streams. The entire admission process is formatted to be open and accessible to all capable candidates.  The general minimum requirement for academic qualification to qualify for admission into an undergraduate program is completion of a 10+2 course or equivalent examination conducted by a recognized school board. • Recent passport-size photographs

5.Application Submission: The completed application form should be submitted to the college office together with all other relevant documents within a set deadline. 

6. Merit List: The college prepares a merit list based on the candidates' performance on the qualifying examination and any other criteria if specified for each programme.

7. Counseling and Seat Allotment: The shortlisted candidates may be called for counseling, wherein seats will be allocated according to merit in the chosen discipline and availability.

Degree-wise Admission Process

For B.Com, the college gives admission into Bachelor of Commerce in one specialization. B.Com admission is based on merit in the qualifying examination (10+2), but preference will be given to the commerce subjects.

BA: Sree Jagadguru Fakireshwara Government First Grade College provide the following three Bachelor of Arts programs with different major combinations:

1. BA in History, Economics, and Political Science
2. BA in History, Sociology, and Optional Kannada
3. BA in History, Political Science, and Geography

Admission to these three programs would generally be based on merit obtained in the qualifying examination with preference given to those who took relevant subjects on 10+2 levels.

B.Sc: The college also has Bachelor of Science programs. B.Sc admission is mainly based on merit in 10+2 exams given weightage to science subjects.

BBA: The college has a Bachelor of Business Administration program. Admission to BBA will be offered on a candidate's performance at the qualifying examination and might also have a selection based on merit.

BCA: The college has a Bachelor of Computer Applications department running since a long time. The admission to BCA is based on the student performance at the 10+2 level with preference for the subjects of mathematics or computer science.

M.Com:  For post-graduation studies, Master of Commerce is offered too. For admission into the M.Com program, preference is given to a candidate's performance in the undergraduate degree examinations preferably in Commerce or any related field.
