Both the computer science engineering and the cse with specialty courses are excellent. However, in my opinion, it is too early to decide on a specialisation in any of the engineering streams after completing the 12th course. When students enrol in engineering programmes, they already have some background knowledge in the field.

They come across many courses while studying for two years and elect to join or do supplementary learning for that particular area. The primary distinction between a specialisation course and a regular course is that in a specialised cse stream, specific courses pertaining to the speciality are taught. As a result, CSE is preferable to CSE with specialisation.

It has well organized infrastructure and non-smoking green campus. Labs are very much updated with latest technology which is very beneficial for students in practical learning . Faculities are also very well experienced and motivates all category of students. Average package goes around 7 lakhs and highest goes upto 35lakhs which is quite fascinating for placement scenario

Both the universities are good and provide more or less similar placements.

Chandigarh University: this college offers 261 courses of which 49 are btech. The highest salary offered is 35.00 LPA. The college provide great placements in top companies like panasonic, mindtree, birlasoft, HDFC bank, TCS, deloitte, precision group, Microsoft, amazon,google,hewlett packard enterprise. The median salary is 3 to 4 LPA

Guru gobind singh University: the University is much older than Chandigarh University. But the placement of this university is average.  The median salary is 3.30 LPA. The highest salary offered is 7.70 LPA. The college is above average in terms of infrastructure, sports and academics. Top recruiters are concentrix,amazon,josh Technology group,adobe,paytm,TCS

• Placements: Both are almost equal, however their median salaries are:
  • CU ==> 3.5 LPA
  • Jaypee ==> 3.6 LPA
• Fees (4 years): CU ==> ~7.5 Lakhs| Jaypee ==> ~9.5 Lakhs
• Faculty: Here CU takes the lead.

Based on these information, it is advisable to choose CU over Jaypee because of its value for money. Nevertheless you too work out your priorities and make the decision that suits you the best.
