Hi Candidate! Jadavpur University is better than IIEST Shibpur. Jadavpur University has good facilities of faculties, infrastructure, culture, academics as compare to IIEST . And of we talk about placements I don't think IIEST Shibpur has better status than JU. IIEST is good college but still they don't have good placements.

I would recommend you to choose Jadavpur University rather than IIEST.

WBJEE is conducted for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in the state of West Bengal. But NIT Durgapur and IIEST shibpur do not come under WBJEE. Hence you cannot get admission in NIT Durgapur and IIEST shibpur based on WBJEE score.

If you want to get admission in NIT Durgapur and IIEST shibpur you will have to write JEE Main and then qualify it. You have to satisfy certain eligibility criteria also. Then the admission process takes place through JoSAA counselling. There is also special round of seats remain vacant.

On the basis of this rank it is quite difficult to get a seat in top branches of IIEST Shibpur even with your reservation category but you can try for branches like mining and metallurgy or material engineering if you are interested in these branches, because there cut-off goes quite higher around 40,000.

But note that above prediction is based on previous years' cut-off and cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors. I would like to tell you that the eligibility criteria for the admission in shibpur institute of technology the eligibility are :

• the candidate must be passed 10+2 with 75% +  JEE mains.

•the package for the aeronotical engineering is 1.34LPA

• the college has the good infrastructure and well maintained with all economic facilities available.

•well trained faculty.

•And good placements with the reputed companies.

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIST Shibpur) offers admission to undergraduate programmes in engineering through JEE Main and WBJEE scores.
But i feel really sorry to say but you won't be able to get admission because you have failed in Maths and its compulsory to pass in PCM for getting admission in any engineering college.Appear for compartment exam and pass and then only you will have any chance.

sorry to say but if you have not cleared your mathematics subject in boards examination then you are not eligible for the same as the basic eligibility criteria for the admission in B.tech course is candidate must have passed their 10+2 this year from any recognized board with atleast 5 subjects and out of which not more than 2 subjects should be vernacular subjects and candidate must have secured a minimum aggregate of 45 percent marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics altogether and with minimum 30 percent aggregate marks in english

If you failed in maths you are not eligible,you need to clear the paper first as minimum 75% is needed.Dont worry study hard and give your paper you will do it this time.All thr best
