Hi Subodh!! Congratulations on your score,I would like to inform that you'll get all the branches except CSE whose cutoff is around 378 and the best you can get with this score is Electrical & electronics Engineering in Pilani campus according to last year cutoff.

Hope that helped.Thank you

Hii,i am here to help you according to your query.Putting BITS Pilani Dubai Campus in the same category as American University of Sharjah is absurd. The definition of "real education" will depend from person to person. It will also depend on your background. I am a BITS Pilani student in Dubai and I will not hesitate to admit that there are flaws. It is not the best university in the world. But it is decent enough for me, to do what I want, better than my other alternatives.

The reason why I said it depends from one Indian person to another NRI person is because:

Do you want to do Engineering? Yes? Which I'm assuming you do since you mentioned of BITS Pilani in your post.

-Can you score enough for JEE-Advanced TO get the seat of your choice? There are lots of people here, at least 150+ who come from India to study here, many of whom not because they failed to get into JEE-Advanced but they failed to get the discipline of their choice.

-Can you afford education abroad in M.I.T, Harvard or any of the Ivy League colleges? If No,

-Can you go to American University of Sharjah? (This is actually a pun since AUS is supposed to be way better) No, too expensive?

-That's why BITS Pilani. No?

-Manipal? I guess I should stop here.

-To answer your main question, Placement "record" hasn't been good because the University doesn't create the person in you, they can only give you the platform. We receive companies, counselling and interview but if majority of us are here just for the degree or for continuing masters abroad or not even into engineering to begin with, that is what no college can do for you -- Create a passion for Engineering in the one who doesn't have any. It has to come from within.

Hope,this information helpful for you.Goodluck.

Congrats on whatever marsk you got.

Branch change is just theoretically possible!!!

For vertical transfer u have to get a pointer of at least 9.5

Now this is not possible because since 2014 the syllabus pattern has been changed. So u have to study three more additional subjects thermodynamics, probability and statistics along with ur courses.

Getting such a high pointer with so many courses is extremely difficult and no one has managed to do so at least in bits hyderabad campus since 2014.

Moreover if u try to get a dual it will take 6 years.

So plz don't join b. pharma in hope of branch change!

Hello Ravi,
In India iit have the best and high tech equipments on their departments including mechanical branch.  The professors are highly qualified including PhD holders. The government fund is more compared to bits since bits is a private institution. The mechanical branch in top and mid tier IIT has high placements and high packages. Also having the iit tag helps in getting job.

Hey Rajnish,

The first and foremost eligibility criteria is to gain atleast 75% in aggregate in PCM subjects and 60% in each sucject separately. Moreover, if you achieve 90%+ that's good but the another criteria is that if you are the first ranker of your school then you will get direct admisssion in B.E (hons) in BITs Pilani. And also if you are not, then you have to give BITSAT entrance exams to get admission in that college. Hope you find it useful.

Thank you.

Well it would a lot easier for me to gide you if you had told your branch and your category.

So I'm considering you a General category and an aspirant who wants to opt for CSE.

Regarding this, your JEE main rank is sufficient to land you at any NIT CSE leaving NIT Trichy.

From your JEE advanced performance, you can expect a rank of around 9.5k to 10k but with this forget about CSE, chances of getting an IIT are almost negligible

Regarding your BITSAT score 330, with this you can exoect a CSE seat at BITS Goa or an EC seat (very slight chances though) at BITS hyderabad.

But considering a Top teir NIT CSE branch, BITS Hyerabad and BITS Goa stands no where close to it!

Hence I would recommend you to opt for NIT

Prepferable choices:

1. NIT Warangal

2. MNNIT

3. NIT Suratkhal

All the best for your future endeavours!

Hello Akanksha,

BITS comes second to the top 5 IITs, so you can guess how competitive it is to get there. It does not accept Jee Mains score. They have their own exam calles BITSAT, via which their judge if the student fulfils their requirements. You can get admission in BITS only through BITSAT. They only give direct admissions to students who have obtained first ranks in their respective Central or State boards, irrespective of their BITSAT score.

Hi ! Yes as per your performance you can get any college of bits. There are three campus under bits which are Goa campus, Hyderabad campus, bits Pilani and the other is in Dubai. Through your rank you can get bits Pilani with any core stream, don't hope for CSE, ECE or computing and maths. In Goa you can still have slight chance to get CSE or ECE depending on number of students and the cut off. So best of luck to you.

Hi Nimit,

It is difficult to get into BITS Pilani that too into CS with a score of 382, as the cutoff was around 420+ the previous year. If you want to join in BITS Pilani only then you can join in BSC easily rather than BE with your score.

However, the cut-offs are a little low for BITS Goa and BITS Hyderabad which are almost as good as Pilani branch, so you can try for them.

As the previous years cut off for BE CS in BITS Hyderabad was around 370, you have a chance to get into BITS Hyderabad.

All the best...!!!
