Hello Tejashree,

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level post-graduate entrance exam that is jointly conducted by the seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore for admission to M.Tech programmes offered by government as well as many private institutes.

GATE 2019 was organized by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in online mode on February 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2019.

As for your question, the chances for Pilani campus are very low but you should get admission in Goa and Hyderabad. You can also try for middle tier NITs.

Hello Anushree,

BITSAT is an online based entrance exam which gives the marks immediately after the test.

The cutoff depends on a lot of factors like number of candidates applied, which campus, which branch.

For electronics last year BITSAT Cutoff was 338 for Pilani Campus 308 For Goa campus and 298 for Hyderabad.

Kindly refer this for more details.

Good morning,

Yes ,it is mandatory to stay at hostel because at the time of admission you have to pay hostel fees as DD along with the admission and tution fees for the entire semester . But in case you're not willing to stay at hostel and you have a genuine reason for that ,then you could talk to Associate Dean of students welfare division and attend college as a day scholar ,but you need to be accompanied by a guardian or parent for this. Thus ,you can stay outside and attend as a day scholar .Hope this is helpful.

Thank you!

Hi Adarsh,

As per my knowledge, MTech. is a master degree course which can be pursued only after you have completed your Bachelor's course on any Science stream.( Like BTech, BSc.) There is no direct entry to MTech. right after your 12th boards. And most importantly in order to be eligible for MTech, you have to pass or clear the cutoff of GATE. So first of all complete your Bachelors degree then score very good in GATE in order do MTech. from Bits Pilani.

Hopefully your doubt is cleared.

Hello Padma,

Yes you can apply M.E in computer science without any problem but one thing you need to remember is that you need clear the BITS Pilani entrance in Computer science stream and you should secure good rank then only you are eligible for the admission in that particular stream which you are interested. all the best for your exam. I hope your doubt is cleared.

Thank You

Hello Adarsh

Toparticipate in the admission process, there are some conditions and requirements that the candidates will be required to meet. These required conditions will be present in the BITS HD 2019 eligibility criteria. If a candidate fails to meet the criteria, then he/she will be termed unqualified for the examination.

  • Should have passed B.E./B.Tech (or equivalent) course from a recognized University.

The candidates should have scored minimum 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

So you are eligible for the application .

Good luck

Your branch of choice is important when thinking about a seat in BITS. The campus also matters. For example - Cutoff for Computer Science is different from the cutoff of Mechanical engineering. Cutoff of Computer Science in BITS Pilani and Goa campus are different. The marks are calculated out of a total of 450. That being said, the general pattern of cutoffs is:
Course                       Pilani           Goa          Hyderabad
Computer science.   378              347            334
Mechanical                313              283            274
ECE                              338              308            298
Chemical                    280              260            247

Good luck

Hi

No, BITS does not consider GATE score for ME admission. It conducts its own entrance exam. The exam is called as BITS HD ME exam. It is conducted in two parts Part I and Part 2.

Eligibility for answering is securing minimum 60% in graduation.

Hello dear,

According to your percentile in jee mains your general rank will be approximately close to76000.With this there is chance that you can get taper, sAstra, manipal but there is very less chance that you can get nirma university. Also there is less chance that you can BIT.

Hope this helps you.
