Infra is old , but not bad ,looks good and is very big is campuses about 48 words and best campuses about to 60 acres which is the separated by 2 km distance , and had as them at 3 4 pics of victorium at contain four five canteens
Old curriculum followed and need to change this, since I am from chemical engineering so I think curriculum need to change at work or on there is a faculty is quite good not so good but not so bad, so you can take admissions
Placement is decent, 7-8 lpa average , 85% placement, and 95 % in chemical, so it's quiet decent decent but I think so there is a sudden decline in the placements because of recession time or something else
Roi is good
Campus is quiet big and campus life is decent
COLLEGE IS FOR CORE BRANCHES LIKE CHEMICAL MECHANICAL ELECTRICALLY SEE AND CS NOT FOR TECHNOLOGY BRANCHES LIKE OIL FOOD LEATHER
Nice infrastructure, building are well developed or in a good condition.. Campus is well equipped with water coolers and cycle facilities. All branches has there separate buildings except some technology branches. Infrastructure can become better.
All teachers are well qualified and skilled, They can clear any doubts related to the subject. Teachers are qualified with masters degree from top iits, nits. All teachers are good with behaviour and nature wise.
Placements are around 85-90 %. All the branches have a good placement of average of nearly 8-9 lakh. Especially for electrical engineering, there is gradual increase in the placement. At the last if you study properly, yau can definitely got placed.
Yes, according to the fees , I think everything we got is fine.. Like all the hostel, classroom facilities are fine. Campus life is also good , canteens are well equipped with the fans and air conditioners.
It gives a good campus life ... A lot of events and programs held timely, You can participate in them and win certificates... Technika is the india level technical event that held in HBTU every year....
the infrastructure seriously lags behind modern standards. Many buildings appear outdated and poorly maintained. Classrooms often lack proper ventilation, and some even lack functioning fans or projectors. The hostel facilities are below average, with issues like old furniture, unhygienic bathrooms, and irregular water supply. Wi-Fi is unreliable, and basic amenities like clean drinking water and proper sanitation in many blocks need urgent improvement. The campus has potential but clearly needs significant renovation and modernization to match the level expected from a reputed government engineering institute.
The institute follows an absolute marking scheme, which means your grades are based solely on raw scores, regardless of how tough the exam was or how others performed. This is very different from IITs and other top institutes that use relative grading to fairly assess students. What makes things worse is the attitude of many professors. A lot of them seem frustrated or disinterested, and this reflects in their teaching and evaluation. Even after putting in genuine effort, it’s extremely difficult to score well because marks are deducted harshly, and there’s barely any scope for partial credit. It's not uncommon to see students demoralized not because they didn’t study, but because the system is unsupportive and rigid.
Computer Science & IT: These branches have seen robust placement outcomes, with average packages around INR 11–12 LPA and the highest offers reaching up to INR 35 LPA. Core Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical): Placement rates are strong, with average packages ranging between INR 6–8 LPA. Notably, Chemical Engineering has achieved near 100% placement in some years. Specialized Branches (Paint, Food Technology): These departments have maintained consistent placement records, with Paint Technology reportedly achieving 100% placement in certain years.
HBTU Kanpur is one of the oldest and most respected engineering institutions in Uttar Pradesh, and for good reason. If you're someone who values academic rigor, strong technical foundations, and a legacy of excellence, this college delivers.
The campus is peaceful and academically focused. While infrastructure could use some upgrades, the environment supports learning and personal growth. Clubs, tech fests, and student societies give plenty of chances to build leadership and soft skills.
East campus is quiet well designed and maintained with its hostels, lecture halls, canteen, offices but west campus need to improve like hostel there feel too old and need some repair and need canteen
As per my opinion academic of our college are quiet traditional but also effective which can be improved more by adding smart board, proper sitting arrangement for enhanced learning of students as per their course
Well the placement was fine untill last few year but as we talk of present time placements of electrical branch of Harcourt Buttler technical university are excellent which includes both on campus as well as off campus
Since our college is a state government college so the fee should accordingly to other state government college but it is slightly higher which is also understood because two campus require high maintenance cost
Well it's was a great experience here we could enjoy spending time in library which acquire large amount of book source as per your academic needs and college canteen where we could enjoy some delicious food
Dear
According to the information with a JEE Mains rank of 98,300 in the general category, getting admission to NITs, IIITs, or HBTI might be challenging as these institutes have higher cutoffs. However, you still have some options:
Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) : You have a good chance of getting admission to various branches here.
Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTI) : This university also offers several engineering branches, and your rank might be competitive for admission.
Thapar University : While it's a reputed institution, your rank might be on the lower side for top branches. However, you can still try for less competitive branches.
It's always a good idea to check the latest cutoff trends and contact the admission offices of these universities for the most accurate information.

Hi
hope you doing well
You have a good chance of getting CSE with 93.34 percentile in JEE Mains 2024 and OBC-NCL category from Uttar Pradesh at HBTU (Harcourt Butler Technical University), Kanpur through AKTU/UPTU counseling.
So, your CRL (Common Rank List) rank is around 61,800 .
Generally, the OBC rank is around 25-30% of the CRL rank.
Estimated OBC-NCL rank = 15,000 - 18,500.
If CSE seems tight, you can still get some excellent branches like:
Best Wishes.
Hello Aditya,
The CSE cut off in computer science in HBTU was 22184 for the other state quota and for the Uttar Pradesh domicile quota, it was also the same. So you should get around 98 percentile in order to get the cse branch in this college.
However the cut off may vary due to certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the examination, previous year cutoffs and difficulty level of the examination and the number of seats available in the college.
