Despite college’s reputation and history, it’s infrastructure is nothing compared to that of any other college in India. Wifi is available. Labs are accessible, classroom are fine. Library is resourceful but cannot be accessed for 24 Hrs. If you are a real sportsperson then you are really gonna get disappointed since the sports facilities are not that good. Canteen needs some maintenance.
The college offers various courses but the syllabus being the same not updated one. Course and exam structure is well maintained. Labs and workshop are quite accessible. Also many internship opportunities are available for the students.
HBTU is one of the oldest and finest college of India which has its own dignity and privilege. It has a very strong Alumni network. Placement are pretty good and vary for branch to branch. There are a few great recruiters along with the good ones.
Infrastructure of this old renowned institution dated back to 1921 when it was started, is still maintained by the authorities. Not so out of the box infra to expect, but the college has labs of NBA accredited level, smart boards are newly installed in every classrooms, gym and other sports arena in the hostels and West campus of the university. Library has sufficient books, Wifi in campus area but with restrictions. Enough of greenery to expect .
I am an undergraduate in Chemical Technology specialisation Paint here in HBTU. This course deals with the coatings, and advanced development of paints in both core and other automobile industries. It's the only University to offer the course in India apart from one other college. Due to limited course, the quality of teaching here is good with all qualified proffesors . The curriculum of all the branches here is well designed and structured in competence with the current industry.
Placements have been increasing rigoursly in the past few years. Computer science and Paint Technology students here are 100% placed. Average package ranges from 6-8 lacs of overall branches. Talking about CS , avg. Goes to 11 lacs and above . Since , the college has a wide alumni network both in India and abroad , students find it easy to approach in placement cells and internships.
Pretty much the fees in all government colleges for B.tech is near and around the same. Overall 4 years can take a lumpsum of 8 lacs here. Though the amount of money taken, infra and sports facilities need to be improved, but the wide alumni network you get of HBTI and one of the top engineering institutions in UP after IITs, NITs , it's pretty decent to enroll into.
The college is placed inside the Agricultural Institute (CSA) in a good region of Kanpur surrounded by various leisure locations. Since day scholars also constitute most part of this college, you can also opt for motorcycles etc in clg for hostellers for daily commute. Life on campus is pretty happening with various cultural, technical and sports fest every year. Various clubs are there as of dramatics, aeroclub ( for aerospace and stuff) quizzing club ( Q frat), dance ,debate etc.
Overall the college is good to take admission if you want a good college in UP near to home, and a good alumni network to grow yourself more . The academic gradings are absolute to provide rigorous competition among students and campus life is good. Still a freshie here in H BTU, i have a lot to take count on and make my best 4 years of life a memorable one.
The infrastructure is not so good the facilities are also not up to the mark our classroom has a smart board and it is well maintained the hostel are not at all hygienic . The hostel does not have a wifi connection.
The teaching quality is ok and has all the recent developments int he field the placements aree too good and yes waht i study makes me job ready. The students have to put more effort than teacher put while teaching.
The highest package was of 60 lakhs this year was of cs the average salary is 8 lakhs pa the college was also supportive. Yes the placement process easy and pleasant the job was in amazon one of the biggest companies.
135000. Yes it is worth it.
Colleges provide all kinds of activities in which the students can participate the location of the college is also good it is absolutely safe.
The infrastructure is comparatively older and not suitable for modern education. Old equipments for lab and overall dusty workshops is just not beneficial for the education of students. Smart classes are not conducted.
Academics are full time concentrated and students strive to achieve perfection in studies because attendace requirement is 75% for all students and it goes as low as 60% if there is a valid medical certificate for those in need.
Placements are very well suited to the capabilities of a students. Not every branch gets nice placements but at the end it's what we want to do in future, i.e. pursue masters or look for a job either through on campus or off campus placements.
The infrastructure and the extra curricular activities are not given much importance.
Campus life is pretty good and meeting new people just makes it even more interesting.
Overall the college is nice and at the end it's what you make of it. Ample of free time and motivation will get you to the top.
Yes in my college all the necessary infrastructure facilities and equipments.the facilities in workshop and laborities are safety tools and etc and now there is smart classes will started and in every class there is a smart board.
The quality of teaching is very good. Teacher tells us many new type of things or new inventions and related to our branch. Such as my branch is plastic technology then we all know about the placements and companies regarding plastic product companies.
The quality of placement is very high and good. The maximum percentage of students were placed in many companies.the highest salary package in computer science and engineering is about 40 lakkhs. And there is placement in chemical engineering stream. Average salary package will be about to 5-6 lakh per annum.
Now money is very high.one lakh thirty five thousand per year.yes my money is worth because of we all know about the maintance ofcollege and other facilities.
The college campus is good not very bad. As wee see the earlier situation of the college it is bad campus but now it becomes better.they can handle emergencies in every situation.
College is good on basic infrastructure. Although it requires constant repairs and maintenance (main building and academic section is more than 50 years old) some classes are equipped with smart boards and all. There's free WiFi for students with a daily cap of 1 gigs. Hostels are old but we'll maintained.
Academics is okay. Most teachers are now guest faculties or temporary through world bank funding (cost saving measure due to cuts in funding) curriculum is updated and made for industry (but not quite up to the mark yet)
College holds a good reputation among corporations. Being an old institute it has a huge alumni base which are well connected and help out the institute and it's students in placements. Mostly good and elite companies visit campus and provide an above average compensation for Engineering.
It's outstanding in its value for money. College fee is less than other colleges of same league and institute name and reputation goes a long way. It's a well known and reputed institute with a long standing history.
Campus life is quite active during college hours but nothing much to say after that. Most clubs and committees are student run with least or none investment from faculties and/or institution. There are few clubs under college that are run by both students and faculty members.
I would recommend to have this as your safe school or as your primary. You wouldn't regret it either way.
Our college is on the verge of completing 100 years of serving the world hence the infrastructure is old but is maintained timely so no issues are there, as a part of swachh bharat mission cleanliness is maintained in the whole university. The only place where you will feel disappointed is the in campus canteen but the are improving it. And also due to the location of the university in the centre of the city You will never be far from the most of the deemed restaurant and outlets from McD to KFC
Quality of teaching is similar to any other government colleges either you go to an IIT or NIT nothing changes it totally depends on your capabilities. College got a huge multi story library to sit back and learn with tones of books
Placements are quite good you can get the exact values on the official site. Almost 90% students get placed with good packages. The highest package that a student got last year was 60 lakhs in Microsoft.
135000/- per annum is the fees for Btech. You may find it a little higher compared to other govt. Colleges.
Overall campus life is good. But the fests are not that good, as officials don't provide much funds.
College infrastructure is quite low because there r old buildings and roads r quite dirty and the sometimes we can se shed over the road, the college provides short roads which get filled with water during rain.
I am studying btech electronic engineering becayse i was interested in it nd i have no option rather than to join the college because of low fees. No the study provided ove r here is poor faculty members do not provide support.
Placement r good but not that much which you compare from iits nd nits. The placement r good at some fields but they r bad at some too, average placement can be set as 4-5 lakhs depending upon the field whch u r studying
Yes due to less fees compared to other colleges the value is better but then faculty do not provide what a student maybe needing . So a lot of money is wasted liek no wifi available here but its money is taken so it is only one bad point
Campus has all the things but due to strictp policies sometimes it becomes boring, although the faculty knows very well to entertain students my life is going very well because the location of campus and support of other faculty members is good so i am enjoying it
HBTU is a good college if u are seeking at low budhet but yess it has some bad points too but overall it can be said as a college for gaining experience nd having a better college lifestyle with a healthy environment present over there.. ?
The age old institute has old infrastructure , facilities and equipment but the faculties are very experienced and highly qualified .Classrooms are equipped with smart boards and there is a huge library . The hostels are relatively clean and the food is hygienic .
Electrical engineering is a core engineering branch . And since it is one of the earliest departments established in HBTU so it has some of well known faculties. The institute is famous mainly for the non-core technology branches which sets is apart from other colleges at par .
The placements are upto the mark and a high percentage of students are placed from non - core tech branches in the institute .The placements from computer science branch is good and relatively a higher percentage of students are placed .
The total cost per year is about 1.35 lakh approximately . Given the college's strong alumni network I think the institute is worth the money. Being a goverment college there are many options for various kinds of scholarship for the education .
Campus Life be it any college is always great as it is created by friends. The hostel Life is fun and the greenery of the campus makes it very enjoyable .Simply strolling through the campus is leisure .
Overall the institute is nice . Every institute has some pros and cons and this institute is no exception . The college was started way back in 1921 and since then the infrastructure has not been refurbished which is something the government need to do something about .But other than that the place is good .
Dear
According to the information with a JEE Mains rank of 98,300 in the general category, getting admission to NITs, IIITs, or HBTI might be challenging as these institutes have higher cutoffs. However, you still have some options:
Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) : You have a good chance of getting admission to various branches here.
Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTI) : This university also offers several engineering branches, and your rank might be competitive for admission.
Thapar University : While it's a reputed institution, your rank might be on the lower side for top branches. However, you can still try for less competitive branches.
It's always a good idea to check the latest cutoff trends and contact the admission offices of these universities for the most accurate information.

Hi
hope you doing well
You have a good chance of getting CSE with 93.34 percentile in JEE Mains 2024 and OBC-NCL category from Uttar Pradesh at HBTU (Harcourt Butler Technical University), Kanpur through AKTU/UPTU counseling.
So, your CRL (Common Rank List) rank is around 61,800 .
Generally, the OBC rank is around 25-30% of the CRL rank.
Estimated OBC-NCL rank = 15,000 - 18,500.
If CSE seems tight, you can still get some excellent branches like:
Best Wishes.
Hello Aditya,
The CSE cut off in computer science in HBTU was 22184 for the other state quota and for the Uttar Pradesh domicile quota, it was also the same. So you should get around 98 percentile in order to get the cse branch in this college.
However the cut off may vary due to certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the examination, previous year cutoffs and difficulty level of the examination and the number of seats available in the college.
