Still I'm mentioning here some important points about both these colleges.
But which branch to choose between CSE and IT,is completely depends on you.

NIT Patna was ranked 92nd among engineering colleges in India by the NIRF.The devoted faculty members of NIT Patna is the great asset of institution.
NIT Patna provides facilities like central library,computer centre,Medical Center, Cricket/Football ground,etc.And also provide well equipped labs for CSE department.
In NIT Patna,placement record is illustrious for CSE Department. Students from the department have been regularly recruited by several public sector and MNC companies with high package.

IIEST shibpur  was ranked 21st by NIRF in 2020
It has best record for all the departments.
IT department prestigious here.

IIEST Shibpur is far better college than NIT Raipur. As per NIRF Ranking, 2020, NIT Raipur stands at 61st position whereas IIEST Shibpur stands at 21st position.

In the terms of placements, by a notch IIEST Shibpur is better than NIT Raipur, especially for the CSE, ECE, EEE Branches. IIEST Shibpur is famous for Aeronautical and Aerospace branches of engineering.

Comparing both the Institutes there's no doubt that IIEST has an upper hand compared to NIT Raipur.

In NIT Raipur around 60-80 students get placed in ECE department. The average Salary being around 6 lacs. The Major recruiting companies are basically software companies. Very few core companies visit the campus.

In IIEST Shibpur IT department was the Highest recruited department in 2019. The percentage of students getting placed is around 88% in IT department. The average salary package is around 5 lakhs.

NIT does have brand value but IIEST is no less. It has a NIRF ranking better than that of NIT Raipur and the placement chances of IT department is better than that of ECE. Also you should choose the department which you have the most interest in. If you're interested in ECE then go for NIT and if you're interested in IT then go for IIEST. Both the institutes are really nice and guarantee a decent chance during placements.

ramakrishnaeswar100 , From some research on internet I found that IIEST SHIBPUR is a good college because it has less fess with good placement and if we talk about infrastructure then both colleges are same in infrastructure.

Hello aspirant, as you mentioned that percentile in JEE mains 2020 is 94.55. I am assuming you belong to general category as you have not specified it.

According to the previous year's cutoff trend you don't have a chance of getting into the colleges you have mentioned. Unfortunately, these are colleges won't be available for you.

,I will say Hostel life at IIEST Shibpur is too good. I will suggest you opt for the hostel. Be a boarder of IIEST hostel and feel the mesmeric magic of IIEST campus. The hostel life will give you an enormous and vast field to enjoy, have fun and learn.

You all know that we all spend a considerable amount of our college life in the hostel. So it will have a huge impact on your lifestyle at the end of the “college days”. Hostel life is going to give you the idea and strength to tackle the real life-challenging problems. By life challenging problems, I DO NOT mean any kind of ragging or politics in the campus. The IIEST campus is completely free from ragging and politics. The IIEST Shibpur is so well famous for its “greenery” campus and if you are not a hostelite then you are going to miss something very very important. You make friends, you live a life not just because you join a college but because you join the hostel too.

Some other fun facts: There is no any time restriction for boys of the hostel or hall to roam inside the campus. Sadly, Girls have to report to their hostel by 11 pm (for their own safety). Time limit to go out of the campus i.e. out from the main gates of college is 10 pm for everyone. There is no time limit for entering the campus.

In Engineering, it has received a rank at 21st position. IIEST Shibpur is far better than many NITs and have proper placements for Information technology students. IIEST Shibpur is quite good for Information Technology. You can surely go for that. But if you wish to go for special round, you can go for that. But still there lies a risk of getting a good Engineering college.

Both are really good colleges but the overall ratings for IIEST shibpur is better compared to NIT calicut ,the fees for IIEST is INR 1.60 lakhs for 4 years but for NIT calicut it is INR 5.30 lakh for 4 years,Nit calicut has better infrastructure and facilities compared to IIEST shibpur,the median salary for IIEST is INR 7 lakhs per annum and for NIT calicut it is INR 8.05 lakhs.About 80% students get placed in both of these colleges. In IIEST the highest salary offered is INR 45 lakhs and in NIT calicut it is INR 42 lakhs per annum.I will give you a college compare link where you can compare and see it for yourself

It is a Public/Government Institute , Courses offered here is btech , mtech , dual degree e.t.c. 21st NIRF Rank in Engineering Category , Average package offered for btech students around 7 lakhs , Good facilities and 109 students rated 4.2/5 for this Institute .

ABV IIITM , Gwalior

It is a Public/Government Institute , Courses offered here is mtech ,btech , MBA e.t.c. 100th NIRF Rank in Engineering Category , Average package offered is around 6 lakhs for btech students , Good Facilities and 33 students rated 4.0/5 for this Institute .

IIIT , Jabalpur

It is a Public/Government Institute , Courses offered here is btech , mtech e.t.c. 81st NIRF Ranking in engineering category , Average package offered is around 8 lakhs for btech students , Good facilities and 53 students rated 4.5/5 for this Institute .
