This year specifically NTA , IIT as well as JOSAA Board decided to remove the 75% criteria for Admission in IITs,NITs and GFTIs. Hence as far as 2020-2021 Admission process is concerned, you can get admission at IIEST Shipur with less or more than 75% in Board Exams. All the Best.

Hello,
Indian institute of engineering science and technology, Shibpur has 45th rank from careers360 and 21st rank by NIRF.
They have various branches in engineering like civil, cse, mechanical, IT, electrical, etc.
For engineering you need to give jee mains as entrance exam but other than that there is eligibility criteria for engineering which includes following
Have to pass 10+2 examination which means 12th is included with physics, mathematics as compulsory subject along with chemistry/biotechnology/biology/cs/IT/Informatics practices/agriculture/etc.
You have to score minimum 45% in above subjects for general and for other category 40%.
So yes 12th marks are considered while admission but to some extend.
To know which college you can get with your score you can use careers360 college predictor tool

IIT Bhilai Data Science and AI sounds more interesting with excellent scope of research and career prospects in future. Institute being new having excellent Faculty, Outlook and brand new Infrastructure in development, besides the IIT Tag, will always give impetus to fire opportunities towards you. I believe you should choose IIT Bhilai over IET Lucknow IT.

Hello,
For taking admission in IIEST, Shibpur, you need to appear for your JEE Mains and in order to avail the benefits of your home state quota you'll be required to present your West Bengal domicile.
IIEST, Shibpur is one of the most reputated Engineering colleges. The institute has really nice placement stats. In the year 2019 in B.Tech programme, Information Technology had the highest placement record of 88.89%, followed by Computer Science and Technology with 81.82%. The highest salary was around 35 LPA and the average salary package was 4.5 LPA.

Let me reason out to you
NIT Jamshedpur
*Pros
Excellent Placement in both Core and Non Core Sectors. Almost 90% placements in all Branches. Since last 3 years Batches of Mechanical, Metallurgical and Electrical have almost 100% Placements. Jamshedpur itself being an Industrial Hub, provides lots of opportunities in training and placement prospects.
Excellent Hostels and Mess Facilities with almost 70% Undergraduate Hostels having single occupancy.
*Cons
Poor Infrastructure and Maintenance of Administrative and Departmental Buildings.
Poor Research Facilities. NIT Jsr isnt a place to go if you are planning to pursue a Masters or Doctoral degree in future and planning a career in research. You will not find any motivation and impetus required in pursuing projects and research in campus.
Campus Life isnt as vibrant as top NITs and IITs, though NIT Jsr is steadily rising and has developed a good institute culture in last couple of years.
IIEST Shibpur
*Pros
Faculty and Research Facilities.
IIEST has excellent research potential and collaboration with top Institutes like IIT Kharagpur further ensures good projects and sponsored research in campus. Incase you plan to pursue Masters or Doctoral Degree, IIEST should be your preference. Till date 20%of every batch moves to US Universities and technical Institutes like IIT and IISc for higher studies. A large chunk of IIEST Alumini are settled in the United States, UK and are distinguished professionals , researchers and academicians, hence the Institute enjoys great International Outlook.
*Cons
Placements. Placement opportunities are quite bleak at IIEST especially in Core Branches like Mechanical, Civil and Metallurgy, when compared to that of NIT Jamshedpur. However Circuital branches like CSE and IT enjoy good placements. Still a considerable number of students stay unplaced and prepare for GATE/GRE/IES/CAT/etc Competitive Exams.
IIEST Shibpur, BIT Mesra are one of the oldest technical institutes of the country, but after start of the IIT-NIT System, it fails to gain attention and if often only considered by students from nearby states of West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand around. Hence you wont find any diversity or strong college culture there.
My advice will be to prefer NIT Jamshedpur above IIEST Shibpur.
Civil Engineering is one of the oldest branches at IIEST Shibpur. Last year more the 50 students were placed out of a batch of 80.
Of course Core Opportunities at Civil Engineering are bleak and few companies like Tata Projects, L&T ECC, Berger Paints, Bridge&Roof, JUSCO etc . Recruited civil engineers from campus last year. However, a large number of students from IIEST clear GATE and secure admission in Top IITs and IISc for Masters or Doctoral Degree. Many students clear PSU interview and join organizations like NTPC, BHEL, SAIL and NHAI in Managerial and Engineering positions.
Besides this, many students clear Indian Engineering Services Exam for Civil Engineering and land with prestigious Government and Public Works Department Jobs.
Besides Core, Non Core sector bloomed at IIEST Last year, with TCS, Infosys, Accenture, PwC, MuSigma , Cognizant and other Finance, Analytics and IT Companies jamming the campus last year. More than 70% of the Civil Batch were recruited by such companies.

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology situated in Shibpur Having good infrastructure.Certainly lacks the facility & infrastructure of a top notch institute (refers to my dept.-archi), and heard a lot of complaints from my B.Tech friends about the placement department, which I presume is true to a large extent, although the new INI tag will be able to solve the problem, hopefully. But, students here get one hell of an experience of the hostel life, senior-junior relationship is something we learn to treasure and cherish.
Our college having great infrastructure with all the facilities are available. Library is very well maintained with all books and papers you need with space to study there as well. Hostels on the other hand really need serious maintainance. The food quality is very bad to average. Drinking water is not very good as well. There are no well made tables or chairs in hostels, you have to buy them on your own. For sports there are 2 big grounds where you can play cricket and football. There is separate court for basketball and one for badminton. Except these there isn't anything else in sports department.
Great Infrastructure but placements should be improved as there was no placement in 2020 for Applied Geology. I am pretty sure the engineering departments are very much good at infrastructure but the university authorities must pay attention t the science departments as well.
