Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology Shibpur is one of the oldest engineering colleges of India. It has been ranked at 45th position by NIRF among universities of India. In Engineering, it has received a rank at 21st position. IIEST Shibpur is far better than many NITs and have proper placements for civil engineering students. But compared to Computer Science and IT branches the placement percentage is less in Civil department. Companies such as Larsen and Tubro Construction, Shapoorji, St. Gobains, Maruti Suzuki etc hire civil engineers from the institute with an average package of 4.5 to 5 lpa. All the facilties such as spacious classrooms, well maintained labs, libaries are there in the college. Being on the oldest colleges of India, it has many experienced faculties. Every year scholarships are provided to a group of students on the basis of extracurricular activities, merit based and in case of need.

Yes you will get a scholarship based on your 1st year results. The toppers( based on the CGPA of 1st year) of each and every department after the completion of 1st year will receive a particular amount as scholarship from GAABESU( Global Alumni Association of Bengal Engineering and Science University) office. Not only 1st year, Merit-Based Scholarship is also given to departmental toppers for subsequent years too.

You can also avail Book Grants and Need-Based Scholarship based on your annual family income .

Birla institute of technology, Mesra is ranked 38 by NIRF and is a private university with 284 faculty members and 1678 students intake. They have all the facilities like cafeteria, library, medical,gym etc in campus. Their Electronics and communication course is a 4 year full time course with 120 seats and AICTE approval. The jee mains cutoff is around Rs 11.47 lakhs and package offered is Rs 8 lakhs per annum. They have students rating of 3.8/5.

Indian institute of engineering science and technology, West bengal is ranked 21 by NIRF and is a public university. They have 196 faculty members and 1454 students intake.  They also have all the facilities in campus except cafeteria.
