Can I get any Mtech specialisation in civil engineering of IIT GUWAHATI with gate score of 420 and belonging to OBC category.

No at this score it would be difficult to get into IIT Guwahati even if you belong to OBC category.

Yes, you will get seat in some or other college. But, not the best ones. Also, you can go for management quota for the same.

You will have to wait for the jee advanced rank too as the rank obtained in jee advanced will decide your admission possibility in any of the IITS

The teaching quality at IIt Guwahati is exceptional and the faculty there is very helpful and enthusisatic.You will definitely enjoy studying there.

The placements from IIT Guwahati in 2017 are as follows:

Blackstone group offered the highest package last year worth 35 lakhs.

Apple offered a package of 15 lakhs to 2 students.

The other companies that visited IITG are:

Microsoft, Infosys, Mahindra and Mahindra,Polaris, Deloitte, Airvana, American Express, HSBC Bank and many more!

Can I get iit Guwahati in civil department with 473 gate score with obc category.

There are chances that you can get Water Resources Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering branch in IIT Guwahati for Your M.Tech. cause previous year cutoff was 378 for WRE and 358 For Geotechnical Engineering.

Keshav if you are able to get the option of doing M.Tech in structural engineering from the top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surat, NIT Warangal then you should definitely go for it over doing M.Tech in Water Resources Engineering in IIT Guwahati because the on-campus perspective is not so good in IIT Guwahati. If you look at previous year records hardly anytime full M.Tech batch gets placed. Even you won't find an amazing placement in top NITs but still, in comparison, they have a little better placement plus with your structural engineering branch, lots of government job opportunities will open for you. You will have more scope in off-campus placements. And in the ned also look for your interest, if you are more interested in the water resource engineering then you should listen to your interest because you will be able to perform better when you will like the course.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is really good; at most places, you will get Wi-Fi. The library is also excellent. It's very comfortable reading in the library. The classroom is good, facilities are good—everything is good. In the hostel, you will get sufficient washing machines and a water cooler on each floor.
