Hello,
Yes, you can pursue a Bachelor of Science after a diploma in Electrical Engineering, often through a lateral entry option that allows admission directly to the second year of the degree program. Eligibility for lateral entry varies by institution, so it's essential to research specific universities and colleges that offer this pathway for diploma holders. While some institutions may accept a diploma as equivalent to a 12th-grade pass, others might require you to have passed 12th grade with physics and mathematics to be eligible for a BSc.
I hope it will clear your query!!
Hello,
The BCECE counseling dates for government engineering colleges in Bihar have already passed, and admission to IIT Patna requires clearing JEE Advanced, a process that is also complete for the current year.
For admission this year, your only option is to contact private engineering colleges in Bihar if they offer admission based on JEE Main scores or Class 12 marks.
If this isn't possible, you will need to prepare for the JEE Main and Advanced exams for 2026 to try again for admission to IITs or other engineering colleges in Bihar.
Good luck!!
With a rank of 41200 at WBJEE, taking Techno Main Electrical is most appropriate option as it's a direct admission through counseling, while direct admission to CSE at Techno Main or IEM might not be possible or it can come with higher costs. Prioritize getting a confirmed seat through your rank through the standard WBJEE counseling process, as CSE admissions are highly competitive, expensive and typically requires a better rank. You can explore direct admission to CSE in a higher-ranked college if available, but if limited to these options, the confirmed seat in Electrical at Techno Main is a better choice than a unavailable or very expensive direct CSE admission.
Hello Aspirnat,
Given your SC rank of 2117 and GMR of 23375, you have a pretty decent chance to get Kalyani Govt. Engineering College in the later rounds (2nd round onwards). Branches like Electrical, IT and ECE generally have a necessity of cutoff relaxation in the subsequent rounds, so stay open and continuously check the counselling.
